hell yeah, these guys we are talking about have nothing else to prove. we all know they can beat match. who gives a fuck what they use to perform. I don't give a flying shit about their preference.

Something that is taken into less consideration these days. Everyone wants to be a know-it-all instead of enjoying the music for what it is.

Not really. More like reading the atmosphere.
What? djing is just about playing good music.

You guys make it sound like it takes a 6th sense to dj.

You're correct in saying that "djing is about playing good music" but not everyone has a sense of what is "good" for the right time/place. So in a way, it does take a bit of a 6th sense. Anyone can learn how to beatmatch and figure out how to put tracks together in a pleasing way. But not everyone can read the certain atmosphere of a party and now what to play when, and most importantly, when to switch it up if it gets stale.

I don't think reading an atmosphere takes any special skills, more like common sense and good judgement.

Which, I guess, in todays world, could be considered special skills

Perhaps, and it makes sense. But experience tells me that prearranged sets = slight boredom.

For a radio show? Hell no. It's completely different.

A lot of live sets that work amazingly well can actually bore you to tears if you listen to them at home. It's a totally different listening experience.

A lot of DJs think this and then fall flat on their face at reading the crowd.

Anyhow, last I heard peeps like Armin and Markus use Ableton use Ableton and can do their shows in like 10-20 minutes. Saves them a lot of time...lets them just do their show quickly while on a flight or something. I could be wrong, just what I heard.
