Hmm well Scotland came close (as did England) and we were robbed by a lot of dodgy decisions!

Remember your second goal in the last game (at Hampden)? The free kick? Or the blatant pen against Gerogia away (at 0-0) etc. etc. etc.

England just managed to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory basically by being arrogant and playing a keeper on his debut.

While this thread is titled 'Soccer' or referred to us experts as 'Football' I have a question for you guys about an offside rule that I see here and then in most leagues.

If you are shooting at goal and it doesn't hit anyone and a player of yours is in a offside position, does it still count even though it is strictly a shot at goal not a designated pass?

The goal would stand. So long as the guy in the offside position isn't active. That includes obstructing the keepers view (that would be active).

Unless your the wanker who refed a recent Aberdeen Celtic game... (actually going to help hand them the league..)

LoL

Or if your mike mcurry. Where if it actually hits the defending player then he is deemed to be offside even tho playing for the opposition team.
