Sorry but wtf does this have to do with lesbians. It was filed by the transgender association so I would defenitly think this was a shemale not a lesbian.

I don't know what brought it about but it's definitely a quintessentially American thing to sue over petty idiocy more than anywhere else in the world. Fairly much anyone in a public business lives in fear/irritation of being bothered by someone with a grievance and risks being dragged off through the mud for all they're worth... even if they're not worth very much.
At some point it probably had a purpose of punishing people for criminal negligence and dereliction of duty that seriously messed up someone's life, but it seems to have taken on a life of its own since for mostly nothing in most cases. Heck, only place in the world I ever bothered taking out personal liability insurance
