Yeah, my frustration and sadness of the non-existence of the prog-house I once knew combined with my dislike of today's house music congtributes to knee-jerk posts like mine before.

But then again, unless I'm totally missing something here, big name DJs nowadays seldomly ever play tracks older than than say 3 years old. I've heard Sasha throw in an old track in a 3 hour set in 2006 but thats about it from what I've heard.

It's alright man, I just thought the fact that specifically the term "prog house from 2002" was pretty funny considering the release date of Love Story and the fact that the set just went up like two days ago.

I could list a slew of DJs who play plenty of old records, but probably not much old prog.

Anyways, carry on being stuck in this very small sliver of electronic music's past.

Just dropped Halo - Dark Clouds on Sunday night. Good music is good music regardless of the genre and if you can make it flow with the newer stuff you are playing then why not

Exactly what I meant. By your first post I got the idea that you were implying that we should just forget old school prog and stick to what's coming out today.

I'm trying to say, it's all about playing good music and old school bedrock stuff is good music, so is some stuff coming out today. Date released is completely non relevant. Prog is still playable.

the melody reminds me slightly of "rancho relaxo"..

I believe it was actually 'Bog Standard Prog Fodder', a term they used to quite often use on the Global Underground forum.

Great release from Bedrock, the start of a relaunch for the label. Next up is Djinxx 'Incarnation' in late June.

To tell you the truth, I don't get the whole basis for the rejection of 2002-2005 era progressive... Only thing I can think of is that the sound appears a bit old-hat and thus not agreeing with the term "progressive"... but apart from that, it's not like you can call prog "cheesy" like you could with turn of the century epic trance.

... is what I was thinking of. Not all that similar, but enough so to consistently make me think of Horizons each time I hear it.
