I guess they can get away with it, but that's really lame.

I honestly wish this happened more often with American sports.

Will sell like hell though dans le Midi. I see a whole lot of french youngsters wearing that, combined with some white LAcoste shoes and a cap...

and off course some fake Louis Vitton

Why do they all have the same two sponsors for home and away?

Posted by nettwerk on Jul-14-2008 13:19:

The three clubs are sponsored by the same company.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.

I had always understood that there was a law against having a monopoly over shirt advertising in each league, so for two companies (Sapo and TMN) to dominate by taking the 3 biggest clubs seems a little unjust to me.

Posted by nettwerk on Jul-14-2008 16:41:

lol
Actually, both belong to the same company, the public telephone (the "PT" logo that appears in the Porto shirt).
And, as far as I'm concerned, there aren't any major restrictions to the shirt advertising here - except when it involves gambling enterprises (two years ago Braga had to remove the sponsorship to Sportingbet because of that).

Interesting, you would think the laws would be equally tight, if not tighter in England, but Tottenham will soon be starting their 3rd season with Mansion (Casino & Poker) logos on their kits.
