Nice. My father's VW Passat 1.9 TDI (130 hp) from 2002 has similar stats. Hopefully I'll be driving it soon.

But there's this stupid law in Croatia that prohibits young drivers* of driving cars with engines stronger than 75 kW (100 hp), so it'll be illegal.

* Young driver is a person that has a license for less than 2 years.

This would be fucking GREAT to happen in the states. It is too easy to get a full license here.

I think they're doing something like that here now too.

They do in NSW and I think just about all states now- no V8's, Super or Turbocharged cars for provisional drivers.
Fairly daft really as not all forced induction engines are high powered or even very fast.

Not sure if I'm sold on the 'new shapes' of current Nissans.

Probably... Also, young drivers are prohibited to drive between 23:00 and 05:00, but that law is about to be revoked very soon.

Maybe he just wants a daily driver that isn't going to have thieves target his wheels , suspension that won't void his warranty and kidneys mashed from 'sporty' suspension on crappy roads.

lol I didn't say coilovers. You can have a nice ride with insanely better handling with just a spring/strut combo and some sway bars.

sweet! it's funny how the pose looks the same
i'm sure you got some more power I only have 100hp in mine but it's economic which is important with the $10/gallon (1.65/liter) prices here.

Yeah the petrol is a killer here too, the megane is 225bhp standard, I have no work done too it yet, induction kit and exhaust to come soon, might add another 10bhp at most.

Yeah, at most. Are you doing a full airbox replacement, or one that is contained within the airbox? If you keep the airbox, ti will actually keep the low end torque instead of killing it.

Posted by Lumps on Jun-02-2008 17:10:

Sweet car man. I bought an '08 altima sedan myself about 6 months ago.

Hi, yes, full induction kit, probably k&n, and exhaust system from cat back (Scorpion) , maybe dump valve although they are a little played out now.

I tend not to read reported bhp gains from k&n and the likes, they are unrealistic, a 10bhp gain from the exhaust and k&n would be decent enough, its more for a bitta noise though, although the 225 goes well it is still quite silent, some turbo noise just

Get a turbo-back exhaust instead. They sound better and yield better gains. Also, dump or BOV valves, are only useful if you are changing the psi numbers that you are currently running. Otherwise, don't bother until you do.

No the dump valve was just for fun and sound, I know there would be no performance gain.

I will not work at the turbo itself, shes under warranty still I will only be fitting parts that I can bolt back off without a trace

You won't void your warranty. Changing the EXHAUST from the turbo-back, hence "turbo-back exhaust", is untraceable. You can replace it with your factory exhaust just as it came without worry.

Just to make sure you understand, the turbo is not touched, other than to attach the exhaust bolts. The factory turbo is left alone.
