Just to add a geeky FYO, you can check the hardware tab of device properties in order to find the PnP enumeration value. In this example you can see that 'VEN_1002' means the vendor is Creative Labs and 'DEV_0005' relates to the X-Fi part. You can normally google these values to determine which vendor and device you have, it works especially well for on-board hardware functionality.
