^^^ I just found an old picture of me and a bunch of friends dancing on one of the stages....I'm embarrassed to put it up hahaha
Here's a different one though:

No....your eyes aren't playing tricks on you....you're really seeing that.

My first EDM party was Resolution 07 in Montreal with Tiesto. I was 18 and I went with Sean and my friend Mark. They suggested we go for New Years right before Christmas and I finally agreed. I had never heard of Tiesto other than what Sean had said about him and I wasn't really excited at all.. I almost cancelled and stayed at Unity2 [a club in montreal] instead but of course Sean changed my mind. The party was mind blowing.. I was so drunk I don't remember much at all.. but I know we stayed until 10am, we danced our asses off, met some crazy fun people and I was dead for the next few days haha
My first guv party was Sharam a month or two after Resolution. It was the only time I got into guv with my fake id, lol at me being 12. I remember walking into main room and my jaw dropped. Before guv the only clubs we went to were little gay bars that played top 40 remixes .. nothing at all like guv. it was an amazing night haha
and Dan.. isnt it crazy what Rob can make you do? Haha I owe a lot of amazing times to that boy .. make him join TA hes freakin hilarious
.
first edm event period was 'activate xmas party' in december 2006, with jelo and sydney... i remember thinking "shit i wanted to go up to TO for trance, but this might be ok, ferry corsten spins /some/ electro so these djs might be cool.." haha.. i went with intentions to see what the scene was all about but i ended up being a drunk fuckin disaster.. just ask owen m
then in feb 2007 went to guv for the first time when above and beyond was there, with 1 buddy i barely convinced to come out... and the rest was history as they say

I went to my first party in April 2002 - Chemical Bros. & Paul Oakenfold @ The Hershey's Center. It was more of a concert to me at that time though as I had been listening to Chemical Brothers for years. I didn't even know who Paul Oakenfold was at that time. What a great party though. I loved it when Chemical Bros. came on, and their entire stage came down from the ceiling.
Then in November of 2002, I went to my first clubbing event - Talla 2XLC at Viva Nightclub. I remember I started posting on here in October of 2002, and really wanted to go to the party, but had no one to go with. I was only in high school, and I was the only person that I knew of that liked EDM. I posted that I had no one to go with in the roll call, and people posted that I should meet up with them when I got there. I remember going to the Coffee Time meet up and met rabbitjoker and then Diginut.
Taking that leap and going was the best decision I ever made, because I have developed some wonderful friendships with those first few friends I made.
The first night I went, I remember all the TAs going into the 19+ lounge, and being dissapointed because I couldn't get in. One of the TAs (who doesn't post here anymore) said that I resembled him, and that I should use his ID to try to get in. It worked. He later mailed me a copy of his ID, and I used it from 16-19 without even questioned once.
For the first few months of my "party career", I mainly went to Viva Nightclub (Coffee Time meetups! Anyone remember those?), and sometimes The Guv (my first time there was in December 2002 for Tiestor). I only went to trance parties, until I went to System my first time in March of 2003 to see Adam Beyer, Marco Carola and Valentino Kanzyani. That party blew me the fuck away, and I became a full on techno junkie. System was my home in my early party days. I mainly listened to techno until Steve Lawler @ System in March of 2004, and then later Danny Tenaglia @ Boa on Canada Day 2004. Remembering these parties really reminds me of how significant an experience it is when you discover a different element of partying that you like for the first time.
Here I am 6 years later! I can't believe it's been that long already.
Anyone have any pics from those days?

First EDM party for me was the last iDream party, April 17th 2003. Had a fantastic time but I couldn't believe people were staying so long lol. I was in major pain from dancing most of the night hahah! I was super happy that Armin was playing though and had a total blast!
Good memories, fun times
Who would have known the day I stepped foot into the doors of Guvy Oct 2004, I would discover a scene that has become a way of life.
Immediately I was addicted. Every weekend.
1st party: Rank 1 and Junkie XL
2nd Party: Christopher Lawrence (where I met Lars, beautiful relationsip ever since)
3rd Party: zone
I was reminiscing with Shanny today old party characters:::
1. old man with REALLY old camera who took poloroids
2. Top hat man who didn't dance, just walked around
3. Blonde transvestite... you all know who I mean
4. Dante
5.

Tiesto at The Docks 2003
Dumonde at Viva 2003
I almost failed Gym grade 11 because i had an exam on thursday at like 9am and i slept in after serious drinking and dancing at Tiesto the night before. Thank god my teacher was cool, i brought him a doctors note and he let me write it another day lol
Dumonde party was fucking amazing, i was very impressed with the sound the minute i walked in there and lazers as well lol
The highlight of the night was hearing Mauro Picotto & Riccardo Ferri - New Time, New Place. It wasn't even out yet, i downloaded the promo a few days before and fell in love with that track. This was probably the tune that made me like techno.
