I saw the point of the article, a bit differently.

To me the author was saying: 'Dude, its a DJ set, so stop being all mysterious about. Plus its only you for 9 hours, not that diverse.'

Best part of the article was an Armin quote:
quote:
The cool thing about the genre trance is that you can get away with playing any kind of music, even house music.

It would wonderful to see a shift for people to go back to calling it dance music and stop worrying about genres.

+ 1....i remember when everyone just called it dance music.....plain and simple....besides, the lines are so blurred nowadays you can't truly classify the majority of tracks anyhow.

At least someone is seeing the truth.

Sydney Morning Herald is a muppet newspaper, and none of the dick heads who write for it know jack shit about music or well...anything.

Re: 9 hours of music, you guys will be pleased to know that the illustrious city known as Melbourne is also running an official after party across the road, meaning this event actually starts at 10pm and finishes at 2pm, a grand total of 16 hours.

Shouldn't you be in the COR, bragging about how good you think you are in bed?

As hard as that may be to imagine, the more difficult thing to contemplate is nine hours of trance. It's a repetitive style of euphoric dance music that could make even the most resolutely lapsed Catholic opt for a nine-hour final damnation sermon instead.

that's harsh!
