I'm sitting here doing some work on my site and am thoroughly grooving my ass off. Seriously, I haven't "danced" in my chair like this in years. This mix is incredibly fucking sick.

I danced my ass off while recording it, and I normally don't do that because I pay too much attention...but I just couldn't help myself. These tracks just make me MOVE.

Dressless, among other Burkhardt choons, is a bomb for sure. I've been playing Dragee a lot too.

To be honest, this one didn't do much for me. I was really looking forward to this one, but, I dunno... I just couldn't get into the "groove" this time (I'm on my second listen). Don't get me wrong, the mixing is superb as always, and there are some good moments... but it just didn't get me moving like I thought it would.

Now, one realization I do have is that I'm listening at work on crap speakers, and if I were listening at home on my "big" speakers (read: bass response) I might have a different opinion.

Anyways, great job on this mix! Just not my cup of tea this time.

lazy as in the energy of the mix was lazy, i wasn't rocking out in my chair like some lol

also some of the tunes in the middle were....

lets just say i can have a hard time listening to music like this outside of a party with headbanded hipsters roaming around in sunglasses

Posted by Allied Nations on Jun-10-2008 17:34:

oh and plus one to david.michael

listening to this set with no bass is almost a pointless experience

I would have to agree. If I listened to this with the low end killed I'd probably want to kill a kitten with my bare hands.

ive listened twice

i really like this mix man.

i really appreciate the lightness and looseness of the whole thing

these don't have to try too hard to be funky

i find them captivating nonetheless,

the 'laziness' is exactly why it works and why I enjoy it.

i think you have managed to straddle this line between creating excitement and just chilling out, which is headband techno. It's silly and sexy, funky and fresh, light and laconic, insert alliteration here

definitely brings me back to memorial day

I don't know about headband techno, but it sure as hell was good bike ride music.

Listened to this while taking a long bike ride home from campus this afternoon and it was perfect for cruising around in the beautiful weather. Mixing was tight, and programming was fine - but therein lies the only criticism I really have. Greg used the term "lazy", I'll use the term "safe" - but I think we meant the same thing. This mix definitely stays on an even keel the whole way through without any real surprises or trips off the beaten path, and though the tunes are all great and mixed well - it does just stay on that same track the whole way through.

Still, I think it's mixed well enough and programmed interestingly enough that anyone who wants a nice, drummy, low end tech-set would do well to give it a listen - and odds are they'll love it. The only folks who may not are people who put it on and instantly decide this style isn't for them period.

To me part of "headband techno" as Adam described, is that kind of "FUCK IT WE'LL DO IT LIVE" air it has, thats why I like the mixing imperfections. Originally this was supposed to be for an hour radio show so I kept it around that length, although had I known that wasn't gonna happen I would have probably done two hours and had a little bit more room to have fun. I really condensed my favorites that I felt kept with the theme for this.

Posted by Slylee on Jun-10-2008 21:41:

love the intro...it's definitely unique and clovis-ish. not the usual clovis, my music twin...but i still dig it.

nice mixing. weird tracks. thumbs up
