yeah i thought that too. it'll only make a difference if Russia are able to win their next game and have a showdown with Sweden in the last one - leading to goal differential as a tie-breaker should they draw. i don't know what they're capable of tho. either spain was really really good. or russia are really really bad.

Spain are certainties to go through in my opinion. Although the Russians are behind at the moment, I'd still back them to go through with the Spanish, purely based on their ability to pass and move the ball at pace along the ground. Without Arshavin and Pogrebnyak though, I still struggle to see where your goals are going to come from after you negotiate the group phase and come up against some real class.
