just watched the knicks vs cavs (summa league) / Home run derby. Some Dood hit 28 damn!

oh yeah nba thread...Yeah the knicks won so that means they are going to win it all this year Positive was the Italian giant was decent with a nice dribble. Don't think he can last 48 minutes but just needs a hot hand with the dribble skills.

PS. Get rid of zach and stephon. This should be a new and improved knicks of 2008-2009 not last season or any before!!

Donte Green on the Rockets dropped 40 on the Suns, almost broke the summer league record. That kid should be badass eventually.

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Jul-15-2008 14:41:

Its summer league though,i mean if j.j. reddick had a few good games in summer league. Donte Green takes an ungodly amout of horrible shots that i imagine when he is playing in the regular season against good players will fal less and less. Donte Green is a ricky davis type player

Posted by aBigWreck on Jul-15-2008 17:02:

He was also asked to carry an injury riddled team on his back at the age of 19, which I think taught him to take a lot of bad shots. I'm fully aware that summer league does not translate into the nba game, but going 12-20 and 5-10 from behind the arc is impressive non-theless.

He has all the tools, he just has to be coached well and I think he will be at least a good bench scorer, which is all the Rockets need.

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Jul-17-2008 00:44:

Wow not sure what to think of James Posey signing with the hornets. i guess if anything he adds a bit of toughness off the bench and solid defense. I kind of thought the hornets had more of a pressing need for back ups at the forward and center positions

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Jul-17-2008 01:21:

wooo!!! posey going to the hornets!
then again, i'm a bit nervous about paying him 6 million a year.

also, in other news, Denver has officially lost the letter D in their team name. This year, they will be known as the enver Nuggets, due to Camby going to the Clippers.

wow. Camby, Kaman, and Thornton? Sounds real interesting .......

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Jul-17-2008 01:29:

If the clippers with camby get Iguodala they will be a very interesting team to watch.

Denver has now officially become the new york Knicks of the west, without Camby teams might just start doing lay up drills against them

however .... let's just say out of the blue. kenyon martin moves to center, possibly allowing kleiza to starting power forward. then possibly move a.i. to point guard, and jr smith to shooting guard? kleiza, melo, a.i., and jr smith all in the starting lineup? talk about a 120 ppg fantasy video game team! however, no D.

Jerryd Bayless avg 27 pts in his first 2 summer league games. 31-37 from the free throw line. That's insane! Watched both games, he's an attacking animal to the hoop. Ultra quick, nice handles, can finish with either hand. Needs to work on his shot, passing, and decision making.

+ Oden, + Rudy Fernandez, + Bayless

My Blazers are ready to drop a melting deuce on the Western Conference. Plus, you have to assume Roy and Aldridge get better in their 3rd year. Lastly, Travis Outlaw also has a chance for further development.

Avg age of team: 23.6 years.

Gonna be a nice ride......Bandwagon is closed sorry Butterzzz. Once a Spurzzz fan always a Spurzzz fan.

Posted by SlackerBoy9 on Jul-17-2008 16:08:

I thought the Blazers bandwagon closed when they built that fantasy team back in the mid to late 90's that had almost all of the western conference all stars on it. But seriously i don't think you can count on Oden taht much, the microfracture surgies like that almost take 3 full years to recover from. I am curious about rudy fernandez because i haven't seen or heard anything about the guy

Posted by trunks1022 on Jul-17-2008 16:15:

gotta be worried that gallinari is shut down for the rest of summer league with an achy back

Amare Stoudemire took 3 years? uh no. Took 18 months and that will be the time by the start of the season. He's already ready according to doctors, I'll tend to trust them. You also have to consider medical science is better and better. Plus, Oden is 19 years old (heal faster) and had a very small microfracture injury, not like Darius Miles.

I had forgot that stoudamire had reinjured the knee when he came back and they shut him down again my bad. As for Darius Miles is he even still in the league?

2004-2005 season. Amare Stoudemire 26 pts, 9 rebs.
2005-2006 season. 3 games played.
2006-2007 season. 20 pts (marion took some pts), 10 rebs.

For some strange reason I don't see the THREE year gap. Nice try.

Darius Miles had a much more destructive knee. Oden has the smallest micro surgery you can have. But as for him, he's a worthless fat slob who never had any intention of coming back, instead just wanted to sit on his fat ass and collect his salary. Comparing him to Oden, who was a workout warrior where the Blazers had to tell him to back off for awhile is lame.

I never brought up Darius Miles..you did.A little too touchey about the Blazers i think

I'm a Blazers fan, just standing up for what I believe. Why do people on TA always get worked up if you debate points? Grow a set of balls. I just like the back and forth. Gimme a break..

1. Artest is a decent player but he always brings drama with him. Hopefully he is rehabilitated from his previous days.

2. Let's Hope the Rockets make it out of the 1st round for the 100th time. 22 wins in a row is good for the playoffs not the regular season

Posted by aBigWreck on Jul-30-2008 15:23:

I'd say Artest is far more then a decent player. He was the defensive player of the year in the 03-04 season and had season averages of 20.5 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 3.5 APG, and 2.3 STLs.

The only unknown about this trade is whether or not he will cause chemistry problems. However, he played 40 games under Adelman and had 0 issues during that time. He has often said that Adelman was his favorite coach, and I hope that playing under him again will help keep him under wraps.

If he doesn't work out, hes an 8.5 million $ expiring contract. At the end of the season there could be a potential sign and trade with Artest if we need to send him elsewhere. There is a huge market for him around the league so it would be possible to net back a good player in return.

Regardless, we got a top 50 player for basically nothing. I think its a great trade.

and we're getting it today, but i think we're gonna get trashed by US, we're not ready yet, and there are ~5 players who are injured/recovering from injuries

Was spending too much time in the studio. Missed this season big time. Too much fuckin distractions, well atleast of them were real and can ball, assist and crossover in your face!
