Too many bpms gets me stressed out, and too few sleepy. I like it in the middle :-)

I alway tell people I like Trance. Many people are not interested in what sub-genre, and besides that I like more sub-genres, so why make it difficult?

There are many different sub-genrs however the difference between many is so small that people don't even bother with those. The terms "uplifting" & "tech" are probably the most used today.

Furthermore in the latter years, many have come up with thousands of unexistant genrs which, of course, fell into debates and so on. The reason for this must be the feeling to be the first from a new genr.

What the fuck?

That's the dumbest thread I've ever seen, they didn't even mention melodic noizecore!

...but seriously, that thread just proves how little sense of humour some people have.

i think wiki guide to EDM genres is pretty good. i always based the variety of that. thou i believe some are wrong..

otherwise

ishkurs guide to electronic music (google it) is pretty good as well.. might not cover EVERYthing. ands its a one mans opinion, take it all with a sense of humour, really helps educate you on the different types and their sound/style.

That guide is far too loaded with bias to take seriously, even with an extremely generous dose of humour.

If electro trance deserves its own sub genre then goa and psy trance deserve to be separated.
