I'm a huge fan of Solar Stone, but the whole "Rains Stars Eternal' album is weak.

Other recent news for those that might not know:

The next Solarstone single will be "Lunar Rings" (taken from the Rain Stars Eternal album) with remixes from Heatbeat, Santerna, Tritonal & Prospekt.

Solarsone's first compilation album since the Solaris takeover is coming out February 2009. This will be called Electronic Architecture.

There is to be a Rain Stars Eternal remix album (strangely called "X" I think) coming out sometime early next year.

Solarstone made his debut in the DJ Mag poll at #93 this year.

Also, cocks.

Great. They choosed one of the worst tracks of the album to be a single.

Now now... I'm sure it appeals to plenty of people without a penis.

Awesome pre-2000. Shit after.

Love their Instrumental remix of 'Feeling This Way' in particular.

If the release will be anything like the rest of the material on Tiger Shade, it will come out on cd. Should be amazing to get something which has been waiting to get released for 10 years. Excluding the mixed appearance on Solarstone's Chilled Out Euphoria 7 years ago...

Whoa, fuck off.

Also...

I was dissapointed by the latest album. Love the older stuff though.

I had this track stuck in my head for years before I found out what it was. One of the most infectious melodies I've ever heard

DAMN !!! You Write the Rules is one of my favorite tracks of all time !!! Brilliant ... was soooo hooked on it 5 years ago ... !!!

Solarstone is a huge talent ... very distinct sound , i havent checked out the new album yet , i should do so soon though ...

When I was in H.S a brother of a friend of mine lent me an unremarkable Solarstone album. A two-disc set featuring ambient cuts & tools of well-known trance tracks of the time (e.g: 'silence' & 'papa new guinea').

'Euphoria' mixed by Solarstone. Brilliant album.

That'd be 'Chilled Out Euphoria'. 'Chilled Euphoria' is by Red Jerry.

COE is superb; Beanfield - 'Charles'...and my favourite transition of all time on any mix album:
EBGT - 'Single' into
Tangerine Dream - 'Love on a Real Train'
...with the Apollo 11 countdown sequence incorporated into it. Epically amazing.

Chilled Out Euphoria is incredible, I can't even remember when I picked the album up but I've had it for a long time now.

I've always been a sucker for Solarcoaster too...

you're so cool
you're so cool

Some favourites:

Seven Cities - original for beauty, L-Vee's 'Living cities' remix for gatecrasher nostalgia
Solarcoaster - of course
Liquid state - Falling (Solarstone after hours mix)
Conjure One - Sleep (Solarstone after hours mix)
Whirlpool - Under the sun (Solarstone remix)
Young Parisians - U write the rules (Solarstone remix)
Solarstone vs Scott Bond - 3rd earth

I'm exceptionally glad that there seems to be more people here who absolutely love that CD to death other than just myself.

Same

I ended up buying pretty much every Euphoria release with the exception of the 'Extreme' ones...then Euphoria went under the Ministry of Sound label and became exceptionally gash.

man, i love tangerine dream so much. i could eat tangerine dream for breakfast, i could eat tangerine dream for lunch, tangerine dream for dinner, tangerine on christmas, tangerine dream for thanksgiving, tangerine dream for my dog

Their latest album was an absolute joke. The cornerstone of cheesy uninspiring trance.

Their oldest stuff is indeed great. 'The Calling' is my favourite tune followed closely by 'Solarcoaster'.
Yeah I know I didn't mention 'Seven Cities' but I personally think trhat track is somewhat overrated.

Yep, there's the short version, the extended version and the "new" track Gathering Storm which is a grand piano piece. Release is currently set for mid-Febuary.

Solar Coaster
Release (Deep Mix)

Some others which are ok but for the most part quite overated as producers. Some of their sets are good for the terrace and a drink but nothing more.

Posted by Nell on Dec-17-2008 22:28:

solarcoaster sounded good, but i cant really give SS much credit here. They directly lifted the melody from a film soundtrack if memory serves me right and just made it sound like a b-side to seven cities.

For me, the calling is their best work.

Thanks to Mart's heads up, I noticed 2nd Element - Underwaterfall CD has been released on Tiger Shade.

Buy HERE.

I remember when they came out here to play years ago, they lost their luggage including records at the airport. Their tour manager who I happened to know had to chase up a copies of all the tunes that they were going to be playing in a day. You should have seen how stressed out they were!
