I doubt the $30..I got there at 6 and it was still $50. Some people were selling a few tickets cheaper out of the line but once inside it was $50. Not too mention the whole mess just to get upstairs. They would open and close the doors and had like 50 people waiting.

You could tell the complete vibe change as PVD hopped on from Patrick M! The intro was my highlight with John Dahlback - Pyramid (Dirty South Remix) into Pryda - Pjanoo

I was vibin dancing hardcore non stop haha.... I was out in the terrace for his intro than went into the back room where it was colder and louder. There was also a huge screen of where you can watch him dj from inside. He really knows how to work all his gadgets thats for sure!

He played some nice tracks from his new mix compilation Cream Ibiza.

Well looks like we have to wait til November now til he comes back!

Sucks I didnt get to meet any TA's!

I thought he played well. I wish I could have gone to Cameo to experience what he dropped there, but eh...

I can see where some people were not into the trancey stuff and more into the techy stuff. I thought the crowd coulda done better myself.

besides the crowd, I enjoyed my time, anytime there's good DJ playing good music. Usually my time is soured by external sources, like getting charged for more drinks than I actually had. The bartender tried to charge me for 7 drinks when i only had 5. I even flipped over his tally sheet and he had 5 marks. He tried to claim that the first two weren't on there....I was like BS. so he knocked it down to 6 drinks, which still wasn't what i remember, but I compromised because i wasn't completely sure I didn't drink 6, but damn sure i didn't drink 7...lolz.

I got some video/pics too myself, but haven't uploaded anything yet. Maybe tonight.

Now there was one real techy track he played right before sunrise that was amazing, but i can't ID it. I suck at ID'ing...lolz...so props to all who can and give me insight to what he played.

Yeah and I specifically remember when some lady came into the DJ booth and signaled 45mins. I think he wanted to play longer, but whatever. I appreciate that he's willing to play for about 6 hours(even if it's split between two clubs) because that's hard work. i would have to use the bathroom....lolz.

now to wait for the next party.

p.s. actually, i might be going to Armin van B. in New York on July 5th since i'll be up there anyway around that time.

a good 80% of my video of the intro with pjanoo you can't see anything from all the co2 i'll upload them sometime today or tomorrow.

i also had a great time. the way space gets people to the terrace has to be changed. i don't know how they were doing it all night (i got there around 4:00), but i felt like we were all in a third world country and space was giving out free food. we were all crammed to the point that when my phone would be ringing, i didn't have enough space to reach in my pocket and look at it. then the door to the stairs would crack open and a bouncer would shine a light into our eyes and everyone would frantically raise their banded arms screaming to get in. after about 20-30 min of this they finally started letting people in one by one, but if you tripped and fell, for sure you would have been trampled on and crushed.

i don't know if they had it like that the entire night, or if it was just like that in the beginning because they were busy kicking everyone out upstairs as they got ready for after hours.

didn't get to meet anyone, hung out mostly with wenddy, colleen and a couple others. still had a great time, though the set was kind of short, but i was pretty tired by that point regardless. was a great first after hours experience and would love to do it again.

edit - pvd plays with abelton ALOT now. It kinda confuses me. I thought I heard some Life Less Ordinary samples, Off the World samples.. Such teases! Oh he played Filo & Peri - Shine On. . More will come to me but I haven't slept in 24 hours. bear with me.

Correct MelHe played that same track at CameoHe has samples and loops all through out his Ableton set up. He actually mixes live in Ableton with out using the pre-beat matched plug in WHICH IMO as a DJ is awesome.

I think his set at Cameo was better than Space, But everyone has their on opinion.

By far he is an awesome DJ and producer, Lets see if the 4th of July event goes off as planned. PVD by far was amazing night.

on that moment, i almost died, lol...i was peaking out like

I cant believe PVD event was so short, I felt like i was rushed. It seems like i missed alot too. I shouldnt done what i did, but i did. Damn me.

this is the only decent video i got.

Posted by dj douglas on Jun-23-2008 16:51:

Melly pretty much summed it up for me. Although i think trance, the way pvd plays it, can work on the terrace for afterhours. It was just wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to freekin hot to move. i would dance for a bit and jump around but the heat would stop me. i think pretty much everyone was stuck without moving much for the same reason( bad move to put PVD on the terrace in june .

AND DONT MAKE ME GET UP EARLY FOR A 2.5 hr SET! i dont care about the cover charge(charge more but play at least 3.5 , this is miami and the terrace no less. 2.5 hours isn't worth getting outta bed early for here!

great partin with everyone though! had a blast and lost like 10 pounds sweating my ass off!

***edit - a freind of mine said that they may have had some technical difficulties with the sound set up during PVD's set, which may explain when he left so early. hope that was the reason.

Looking at the videos the guy looks like he fucking threw the fuck down!! What the fuck is the problem. The fourth one down that Pat McGroin sent is nasty. Great track, ruthless sampling, and great breakdown!!
Lots of vids from the party on youtube. I mean it looked exactly how it was expected. People ate it up for a while and then they wanted to hear something more dancey.
Thats all.

Hope everyone had fun. Heard from a few of my Space friends that it wont happen again.

At least not during the daylight hours

Yes bro.

My boyfriend is reading reviews and some of you guys are just way out there. He's thinking PvD played HOUSE most of the set. He had his moments but most of the songs ID'd here are all trance and by the looks of the videos Flo got.. it's mostly trance too.

This won't ever happen again for afterhours. I can totally see why. Trance is reach for the lasers, omfg I'm blowing up starring at a fuking light bulb and not for Sunday Morning madness. It's got far too many breakdowns and they clearly just don't have the same vibe.

The crowd may have sucked cuz it's not like you can really "dance" to a trance breakdown. But I am 100% sure the crowd was enjoying it. The music was great. Once PvD finished, the patio got emptyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. It may look like the crowd wasn't enjoying themselves but it was humid from the rain late night and fuking hot!

It was great.. Just fuking short. Too fuking short. I don't want to see PvD for a little over 2 hours. Especially at $50.

Does Luis Puig also own cameo? If so, that's a greedy thing the man pulled. Just should have let him play the 3-4 hours on the terrace alone. If we would have had that extra hour, I have no doubt in my mind it would have been AMAZING.

sharing him with another club is fuking stupid, STUPID, STUPID and probably the worst thing any club owner could fuking do. You can pull that shit off with a Morrillo cuz he's known for Marathon sets. PvD is not like that.

omg he was so cute with those sunglasses on. hehe. Very cool to see him in a new environment. But late night patio sets [june 2006] is peak time for trance.
Noted.

Edit - I dunno how anyone can say one is better than the other. He played a few of the same songs at both events [he doesn't repeat tracks when he plays a typical 6 hour set IN ONE VENUE] and it was fuking SHORT! I can't stress that enough. TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FUKING SHORT MAN! My fuking flight to NY is longer than his fuking set

LP owns Space, Cameo, and Parkwest. The guy is "THE" reason that we have a scene in Miami. He is a smart business man and he does know what is best for progressing our scene in Miami. As he has done for many years.

His decisions may not be the best financially for us but he does understand how to promote events and have them be a success.

After all he did give you guys what you wanted and gave you what you all cryed for "PVD back on the terrace". This is how it had to happen because if he would have done the Terrace marathon with PVD, he may have lost his ass.
