Montreal is just as sketchy, club scene wise.

I frequently party in both cities, and Montreal is pretty sketch.

HOTWIRE - best way to get a hotel for situations like these, might not be that close to the GUV its kinda a random draw ... but the money you save can very easily be used on a few cab rides

Hotwire is the best kept secret for hotels! Just booked mine for the 30th... 4 star Renaissance Downtown Toronto west for 75$US + 15$ taxe and fees. It's like 3min away from the Guvernment.
