If anyone on TA, according to Martin & Edwards, actually saw a true representation of what their "live show" is supposed to be about, it was idoru. They said the seattle show had the best visual setup of all, and they were able to play the album tracks as intended with the accompanying visuals.

I found the visual setup of their show to be absolutely fantastic. It was nice to be able to sit up on the balcony, relax and watch some incredibly awkward videos being mixed about with each other. My only beef with their live show is that I don't think it should be billed as such. It was one CD, and more often than not the silence between the tracks was masked only by Matt using the Echo on the DJM. I would have absolutely no qualms with it if it would've been billed as a "Live Visual Performance."

The sampling is another issue entirely. I knew that it was heavily, heavily sampled from the get go. The thing is that I never paid any attention to the 'marketing' behind it, never read anything on their Myspace, website, CD case, etc. about it at all up until recently. I knew that it was sampled and thus didn't feel the need to go and make sure that they had everything credited. Knowing now that they didn't 'cite their sources,' I have to dock them an incredible amount of points here.

The Quiet Village project is great for what it is, don't get me wrong. They just need to go about promoting themselves a whole hell of a lot differently.

anything else from RJT or Clovis that might help our readers understand a little better the issue at hand?

The quality of being a whore.

"Mother's" is perfectly acceptable form of "mother is".

i dont understand what the big deal is. the whole point of the project is to be a montage of that exotica sound. unless they are claiming to have completely written and performed all the music, then i dont see what is wrong with them sampling.

anywho, i am a fan of their cd and i like the concept. its not original, but its better than watching a lone dj play with himself for hours. most dance music performances lack spectacle, or they over do it with TranceEnergy-like-festivals. this falls somewhere in between.

that's the problem

i love the cd too, and I'm thankful that they introduced me to these sounds, wherever they are from.

they should just credit the samples and stop marketing it like it's an 'artist album'
