I hooked up a Seagate 1TB external to my DirecTV HD-DVR - runs flawlessly. Now, I can enjoy up to 150 hours of HD / 600 non-HD.

Nice! I had set up 2 drives in RAID 0 a few years back, knowing the risks, and I was still in the process of setting up a backup routine, etc. One of the drives died within a week! I had forgotten to back up my "My Documents" folder and, therefore, the "My Pictures" folder. I lost a lot of photos.

I should know better, I work in the IT field....but alas, sometimes I'm scatterbrained.

damn that sux Sounds like it was a Maxtor drive

It may have been, lol. Can't honestly remember. But I've had a lot of Maxtor drives die. (I used to bring old ones home from work.)

lol that is the biggest reason why I hate maxtor drives.
