See I told you guys. Its the last couple twinga twings that are not in the same place as the original.
My ear is good, everyone besides Nefardec is clueless.

I don't think that's it at all though, I mean - we're talking about Adam Beyer here, he doesn't exactly need to rely on other people's names to get him anything.
I really have a huge problem with people assuming what others motivations are in creating the music they do.
Edit: Clovis, you forgot to log out nefardec. |
haha
well I don't know what his motivation is. obviously he doesnt need to use other people's names, but he's definitely playing off of the success of the music itself, or else why not just make/play a new track? Unless of course he was tapped to do the remix.
i guess I just don't like it is all, and it mostly has to do with how similar it sounds to the original. Just more beaty

Well and truly an acceptable answer. Preference is preference, and no one can be blamed for it, I just don't see how this is all that big a departure from the original beyond the added low end.
I also have a hard time personally with the mindset that people only really enjoy hearing tracks that only they know as opposed "known" tracks - like some kind of inside secret between them and the DJ.
I just like to hear the tracks I like. Whether that's "Mouth to Mouth" (used only because of how overplayed it was - I don't really care for it
) or some obscure B-side I know but can't even ID, as long as it's a tune I like, I'm going to enjoy hearing it whether everyone or no one in the room knows it.

Even if I don't like something, if Konrad plays it, it's probably really good.
I actually like this remix a lot. I wouldn't play it, but I enjoy hearing it in the right place at the right time.

The original is sinister

I agree that the original is a masterpiece. Beyers remix also work in the right occasions.

for me at least it has nothing to do with the DJ - I've long given up 'seeing deejays'. I go to nights filled with guest DJs that I've never heard of and do often. Now you're trying to guess MY intentions
It's more that when I go out, I really love to be disoriented and innundated with new sounds, whether old or new. Basically if there is a reason I go out besides to have a good time with friends, it is to hear music I have never heard before.
A lot of times, the moment I hear something really immediately recognizable like marionette (unless its MJ playing live), I will snap out of my quiet reverie.
I'm sure this is a fine track, I've only listened to a shitty sample, and I'm hypercritical. But again, I just think it's too close to the original to be musically interesting to me, and I generally try to avoid big dancey anthems when I choose music.
bring on the b-sides
edit - the other thing is remixes like this tend to have a big bang and then die out quickly in favor of the original. this will get caned for a bit and then dropped in favor of other more unique tracks (or other such remixes) once the novelty of "dude, it's marionette, but sick!, what remix is this?" and the element of surprise on the dj's part wear off
