Yesssssssssss. Nice way to finish off the summer for me

finally. some of the best music being pumped out from this label. huge fan. lots of solid talent. will definately be there regardless of venue. shucks no magda. she's kinda cute.

Posted by Skipper on Jul-07-2008 10:09:

I'm thinking magda is on the bill. the mnus website has her scheduled to play in Montreal SEPTEMBER 29 - a Monday. It's probably a typo and she's really there Aug 29.

Posted by Passskal on Jul-07-2008 14:41:

nice catch skipper! that would make a lot of sense...I highly doubt magda would play alone on a Monday night. That's great news. Looks like we're getting the entire M_nus crew in Montreal, the only canadian show and the only North American show along with Chicago.

add Niederflur to the bill, and I might consider a road trip for this.

However, if I could catch a drive up in a car with someone, I might consider. But bus/train + hotel is too pricey for this lineup.

But Barbara is at piknic on Sunday, and I believe there are two other piknics that weekend as well!

Kaniz, i'll prolly end up driving depending on the location they put the event...(i dont want to be stuck seeing the M_NUS crew in a small place like the DEMF afterparty...!)

id prolly drag cribby, vince, jenn depending how they feel...

Any news about the location ? An afterhour would be sweet...

The Montreal date is changing. I'm not sure whether that's a good sign or not.

quote:
Due to the integrity of the entire Contakt experience and performance we must announce last minute changes to some of the Contakt tour dates.

There have been some problems providing all the necessary technical requirements for the Contakt stage design and LED lighting & visuals, so we have been forced to change two of the Contakt dates: The Belgium 10 Days Off Contakt show was turned into a regular Minus showcase and the full Belgium Contakt show will now take place in November. In addition we have decided to move the Canadian Montreal Contakt date. An announcement of the new dates and locations will follow shortly on this website.

We've had to make these decisions based upon our expectations of what a Contakt event should be, what the audience can expect to experience, and to maintain the high quality level that we demonstrated at Contakt Sonar (see www.contakt-events.com for pictures and tour updates).

For everyone involved Contakt is a new type of show and we thank all of the promoters who continue to support this new idea and look forward to the upcoming Contakt shows. As well, our Contakt development team are hard at work on adding some new features to the Contakt shows & Contakt Membership experience that we will announce shortly, so stay tuned!

Honestly, we are disappointed about having to make any changes to our original scheduled dates/locations, but we feel strongly that the above changes truly present an opportunity to have the best possible Contakt events in each case.

Sincerely,
Richie Hawtin

i heard they were cancelling, so this news is better.

could it just be that with about a month to go and almost no promotion they did not sell enough?

Posted by julien2 on Jul-25-2008 00:52:

yep good news, at least its not cancelled.

Umm notice how the event section of the website only says North America now? When they say "move the Canadian Montreal Contakt date" do you think also meant physically move it to another city?

Man, I was REALLY looking forward to this.

Torontonian's there will be a mnus showcase here too.

Posted by Passskal on Aug-03-2008 03:34:

I have a feeling this show is really expensive to produce and that no promoters want to take the risk....

Posted by zeKsg on Sep-19-2008 16:53:

So they said they are postponing it now nobody wants to do this, people are afraid these guys won't pull a crowd or something?

Posted by elFreak on Sep-19-2008 16:56:

afraid?

the sad thing is they probably would not pull enough anymore to make a dime off this in this town.

montreal has become the ottawa of dance music.

Oh man... if you haven't lived in Ottawa you shouldn't make that statement.

You are really really really underestimating how BORING and BAD Ottawa is for nightlife.
