I was pissed they didn't have a map thingy. At least have a huge map where all the stages were located at. that would have helped a lil' bit. the venue just felt small for the amount of people that were there. bring the massives back to the ORANGE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Originally posted by Rukes The big problem is the fashionably late crowd. If there is an event this big, people still think they can show up late and everything will be fine. But then everyone else thinks that too, then you get a huge mess. If you decide to go when it opens, you get no traffic, quick parking very short line and get in just about when it opens. |
Here's my list in the past couple of years:
Ticket prices - Increased
Venue Purchasable Items cost - Increased
Venue - Larger
Parking - Increased in cost
Venue Location - More convenient for most people
Big name acts - Increased
Act Diversity - PVD aside, I thought they did a good job
Visual production - Very slight improvement.
Lines, capacity handling - Not very good. Long wait times all around
Level of crowdedness - Worse than last year, it looked 'orange show' level EDC crowded from the pictures.
VIP areas - can't personally comment, but it doesn't sound any better
Artistic touch - Looks as if it has improved. Cubatron is evidence.
Everyone's gotta face the fact that you can't show up to an insomniac event with $20 in your pocket anymore. That would get me parking and a pair of waters at orange show. I would say that there hasn't been any real noteworthy improvement in the past couple of years, considering the rise in the prices.
From what I'm remembering off the top of my head, EDC is about 15,000 attendance (single day) short of Coachella now. Insomniac has a lot of left over money that they can do improvements with.

OK enough about the parking!~ me and all my friends parked about a 10 minute walk away at a meter (which u dotn have to pay passed 6). I waS pissed when i was waiting in line and i feel they should have had more entrances but we are talking an upwards of 60,000 ppl all trying to get into the saaaaaaaame place...
I guess I should really just edit my post because my main, honest to god concern is the lack of any attempt at organizing the lines.
People are getting next to trampled, and for those of us suckers who play it fair to keep our scene friendly, waiting fairly in line is retarded when about 25% of all people there have cut anyway.
Could renting a thousand feet of those portable fence barriers that groovetickets has cost them that much more out of their profits?
No, they just don't care.
im surprise nobody said anything about how shitty the sound system at the main stage was. i could BARELY hear or feel the bass vibrating the floor. and the speakers wasnt even that loud, sounded like a laptop was playing music from the back of KINETICfield. seems like the only time they turned it up was when moby came on, then it got turned back down. wtf was that shit?!
other rooms were banging especially CIRCUITgrounds, the sound system in there was off the chain.
EDC was still tight, the set up, the dj's except the line to get in. thats what killed my vibe. i would still attend another insomniac events because their parties are normally tight ass hell. dont know what happened with this years EDC though
