Though I do like some of his remixes and other people's remixes of him.

I have really enjoyed his productions at times, but he is easily the worst live performer I have ever seen (no exaggeration).

His "laptop symphony" is little more than him playing clips and loops of his tracks and poorly using effects over them - I have never seen such a pathetic attempt at a live show, well, except for this guy:

That was painful.

Biggest "ugh"-feeling since that Second Sun video.

If you came in and at least told us why you don't like BT then there'd be a point to it, and I'm open to discussing the guy's flaws. But it's obvious you just want to be a dick towards people with differing opinions.

Don't worry dude... he was taking a jab at AustralianGQ for the sake of taking a jab at AustralianGQ.

Oh.. and spot on summary of BT as well.

Didn't Simply Being Loved have some number of manual (read: non VST) edits in the thousands? Crazy stuff.

that review explained exactly how i feel about BT's music, especially TBU. its not creative or interesting enough for me. if you want non danceable dreamy background music, check out Bitcrush, his epilogue in waves album (2008). or for a more rock version check out a group called "ride" their album "Nowhere".

edit: oh and the bladerunner soundtrack, in 2000 they released the "definitive edition" which is 3 discs long instead of 1, its endless background bliss. very sexy music too.

System-J is spot on.

I don't think anyone has ever considered him an even capable DJ/live performer.

SUPER nice, down to earth guy too.

musically the guy is gifted, no doubt about it. personally, he's prick. if you need any evidence feel free to search TA for the stories about his daughter and all the appearances he's never shown up for.

I've always thought Sasha and BT were/are the two biggest arrogant wankers in the field of dance music.

Actually I just really enjoy AGQ jokes. Also, I care little about what BT may have been or has done, recently he's been nothing short of an absolute knob. Also, his ableton use is atrocious.

Actually someone already did in this thread.

Posted by Bulgatti on Jul-11-2008 04:22:

He sounds so much better remixed, especially when done by Carl Craig.

that is indeed one of the remixes I was talking about. it's pretty much all CC's work though, I'd say.

It's not awful but certainly not one of his best.

Sunblind is one single where the stutter effect is used exceptionally well.

BT, like many other groundbreaking artists has and always will be a man of phases.

lol, i just checked this guys myspace, he sounds like g-funk meets super nintendo

Posted by DRM on Jul-11-2008 13:23:

BT in my opinion is the most talented electronic music producer around at the moment bar none. His older work is so beautiful and I think TBU is the only album that i actually make time to sit down and listen to it from start to finish because it's a masterpiece.

I don't understand why people have such a poor opinion of him personally because all the interviews i have seen with him he seems a genuine and down to earth guy.

Maybe professionally.... but I know him personally.

And?

Does that just mean you know for a fact he's an absolute twat in person?

If so, I don't need to know him personally to know that he's an absolute cunt.
