Do you know of any good places near / around the Marietta area I could check out? I'm clueless about sushi.

I've been to this place. http://www.tomorestaurant.com/ It's pricey but great fish. I also been to Sushi Huku but the owner retired. http://www.umezono.us/ is another great place. They offer traditional Japanese on top of their sushi.

For those around downtown/midtown. I highly recommend MF Sushi Bar on Ponce. Our beloved FLTAs, Tom, and I went there pre-gaming for 420 this year, and they treated us like kings. We were on a time constraint due to Tom playing and having to set up. They recognized that, and had us in, filled with fish, and out in exactly 15 minutes. Sushi was damn good too, but of course pricey.

I've been to MF Sushi. It was great but pricey. There are better sushi deals in the city.

Inside the city (not that far from MARTA), where are some? Very curious.

I actually found the sushi itself to be somewhat mediocre, but the fact that we were in and out in under 20 minutes was thoroughly impressive nonetheless.

But still not as impressive as our shuttle ride to MidCity from the hotel in Buckhead during sash0r weekend.

Sushi was great imo, just not worth that much money.

For quality in the city you really can't beat Taka. Its in buckhead on pharr road. Soto's (one of the worlds leading sushi masters) apprentice is the chef.

Thanks, Devin.

Idk, we were satisfied.

I cant really comment any more than that, I have no personal experience.

MF is good, a bit pricey and trendy but the owner is a great chef and they have a good product. Ate there a couple of weeks ago with Lawler.

I hate sushi......

but seriously, MF is way overrated and pricey

On rolls and nigiri, a lot of times good or bad depends on how you like your sushi rice or how much the chef actually put on it.

But in sashimi case, freshness of the fish and knowing how to cut could really make a difference on how your fish taste IMO

Posted by iammesol on Jul-13-2008 07:33:

Indeed it can!

You are all pretentious sushi SNOBS.

I ate Publix sushi for dinner last night.

Posted by Renzo on Jul-13-2008 17:27:

Man, I love sushi. But I work 'til 8pm, so I'll never make it to get some free sushi.

Are you still alive?

and Aqua (in buckhead off of Pharr Rd) is literally 100 feet from Fad, a brilliant Irish pub. That's a pleasant part of town, I must say.

I went to some really ghetto sushi place in Marietta last night with some friends (can't even remember what it was called). Sucked hard and was really expensive. lose lose

Posted by nchs09 on Jul-14-2008 02:12:

R.I.P. Ang. She thought she could get away with publix sushi, but the only raw thing she is getting now is a deal.

fail (i tried to go for one of those "most amazing chases" but it didnt work )
