a) Obviously you two cumrags haven't been to BarRio ever since Tiesto raped their budget, which allowed for numerous upgrades in the buildings, including the sound system.
b) I've partied in MANY hotels, my friend. That is the worse conclusion you've come up with. The Beatport Pool Party Remix Hotel at the National in Miami was the last one I went to.
i mean the place looks like the inside of La Quinta, is covered with advertising, and has one of the worst sound systems I've ever heard in a club. it's one thing to have a party actually IN a hotel lobby, and another entirely to make your club look cheap.
RICHIE HAWTIN!!! IN HOUSTON! I JUST SHAT MY PANTS.. I WILL NOT MISS THIS! FINALLY OUR CANADIAN HITS HOUSTON
KICK ASS

hm well i definitely haven't been since the upgrades nor was i aware of them. that place was too tacky for words the last time i was there. unfortunately hawtin is the only thing i've seen booked there that remotely interests me all summer and in september i go back to california so...
my original point remains, Burning Man > Hawtin
guess i won't be seeing the new bar rio for a while.
YES HE IS COMING

As long as I have the honor of being blended with Dirk's pigface I'm fine.
Oh and never ever ever never fucking ever volunteer when it comes to this scene. People are making money so get some of it. Also goes back to a DJs main rule of never playing for free.

and...given I was really just doing this to try and give support for that night, I told this guy to get me a water because I'd been drunk as fark the night before and was dehydrated. He said "no" because a bottled water at BarRio goes no lower than $2...and thats when I just walked away and watched him sweat his fat ass off while I was setting up the cdjs and mixers and shit up on stage with Cory
bar rio has come a long way.The sound has improved but still has a long way to go. i know its difficult to get the perfect sound in such a large place but. I have been to large clubs across the country(webster hall, pacha, ruby skye just to name a few) and i know it can be done. but i do give props to the promoters and people behind the scenes working to make bar rio another great venue it may not be there just yet but keep up the good work. one last thing is get rid of the fucking air horn...that shit is whack.

it's not just a question of louder, but mostly of clearer, based on my last visit, that Bar Rio need(s/ed?) most. louder helps to a point (personally I like it where you can feel it but it's not preventing all communications not shouted at the top of your voice), but clear sound is priority 1 in my book.
it's not only that it's the crowd aswell. i can't imagine richie playing a texan crowd, then again i've seen richie play abandoned parking lots before. you never know what to expect with that man,
