Using random statistics to make your assumption or belief sound like a fact generally doesn't help your cause.

If you would get your head out of your ass you would see that he said it comes down to preference.

Also nice random statistic you brought there. Give me a link explaining why you said that

73% of all statistics are made up anyway.

According to a study I made up for the purposes of proving this point, that number is actually 74%.

choose one you like, PURCHASE it, and stick with it.

learning every daw is fun, but i find that people who know how to use all of them don't really know how to use any of them... if you spend all your time learning the newest daw that everyone is talking about and making noise about, then you'll spend an awful lot less time working on your tunes.

this being said, making a switch because you see stuff you REALLY REALLY like about another software package can be helpful. i mean if we didn't do this, we'd all still be using mod trackers!

heh

oh shut up man, just shut up.

the 'why do 90% of professional producers use cubase' argument is such bullshit you don't even know. since you're so sure, cite for me where you get your statistics from.

there is no 'better' when it comes to programs. cubase is good at some things, it's bad at others. pro tools is good at some things but it blows at other things. same thing with every single program out there.

dude, hardly any edm producers use protools anymore. also, i'd go as far as saying that ableton is more popular than any other daw now. your argument is retarded anyway, just go sit in the corner.

anyway...

i was a long time user of FL - i started on it when i was 14 or so and it was just a beat sequencer (i'm 21 now). it does have a very good workflow for rhythm programming, because of the step sequencer.

however, i find FL really hard to recommend to people now - from a technical standpoint, FL has fallen very far behind the competition. it is missing many basic features that are expected of a daw - such as proper multicore CPU support, freezing, automatic plugin delay compensation, etc. it would seem the devs cannot or don't want to implement alot of these needed features, due to limitations in the way FL was originally written.

personally, i would just stick with ableton, cubase or sonar. reaper is probably the best daw, in terms of workflow, but it still has many problems. development seems to have slowed down alot too.

This is funny But, for the record, when I stated that Cubase sux, that was my opinion. I know that there are many, many producers out there that rip it up with Cubase. Its just, for me, I don't like it because, IMO it takes way too long to get ideas up and running in that proggy. With Live, I can get a track goin in no time since everything is laid out very simplistic. I don't think that it is for noobs at all. I think that it just has a really awesome workflow. And of course, this is all MY opinion.
