Well...
How are we, people who don't have englisch as their mortherlanguage, to cope with messed up expressions like this?
It's hard enough to explain yerself in englisch as it is...
Let's just say it's a good thing we have threads like this, so we get the info we need to understand posts.
We use Fixer Upper = A girl that can stand to lose 20 pounds.
Usage: "Is your girlfriend's friend cute?"
"She's alright, she's a fixer upper."
Snickers = Prostitutes orginally, but has evolved to just meaning women.
Strong = generally reserved for game playing. Refers to good playing/move. IE: Your friend kills 12 people in a round of Counterstrike. That is strong.
From other online games: bog = short for boggle, indicating incomprehension. nog = in agreement, a perversion of 'nod'. "Want to go to the movies?", "Nog"
Wise or wisdom = anything good. "This beer is wise." or "There is wisdom in this beer."
And last but not least, Fear. Our most used word for years, probably best explained to mean 'I fear that.'
"I just got into a car accident."
"Fear."
"No one was injured even though the car was totalled."
"Fear."
"So I had to buy a new car, I spent $25,000."
"Fear."
"It's really, really nice though."
"Fear."
Etc
.
Remembered a few more, and I'm bored enough to post them:
Truth = agreement. "That move was wise." "Truth."
A Fast Program, don't remember how this one got started, is used for really terrible stuff. "Did you see that car? That's one fast program."
Skizm Phlop = any part of a conversation not worth repeating. "What did he just say?" "Skizm Phlop."
We have a couple new ones from Spring Break in NOLA. They work really well whilst drunk, try them.
BLAM! or BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM! whatever, just a fine chick
BLA bla BLA - really slammed, as in you are walking around bla bla bla-ing
'Apply liberally', mostly alcohol, the solution for many many problems.
peas.
