I will concede that the night in question was almost unquestionably an off-night for Steve Porter. Having said that, an off-night for Steve Porter is still a pretty good night.

He picked out tracks that were energetic but perhaps not really funky (there were of course a few). I wouldn't say he kept dropping the energy but I can kind of understand the criticism from the aforementioned perspective. I also didn't hear any serious errors in mixing - for that, I'll have to agree with the others that you must have walked into the wrong club, or confused his set with somebody else's.

I still want to go check him out in New York where he's really in his element and isn't trying to adapt himself to Toronto's minimalist crowd. That's always the kicker here, even Danny Howells has fallen prey to it.
