digweed seems to play down to the crowd in denver, last time was really dissapointing

hawtin on beta's dance array will kick your face off, especially if they get any other m_nus/etc people coming so i'd vote that...lawler's not even a question imo

I believe Patel posted Lawler's set at We Love Space last month some time ago. Check it out. If anyone comes across Digweed's at Space on 7/15 please let me know.

Two peeps I know, both well travelled and who don't know each other have been to Beta and both of them have told me it's pretty much the best club in the US...or nicest at least...or in some fashion.

I want to go there whenever I am able to visit my sister in Denver next.

Damn, that's really good to hear. We got too many people here that bitch too much. I love Beta and it's by far the best club here.

Yeah, I'd also pick Hawtin out of that bunch.

well yeah clearly, i'd be lying if i said i wanted to see dj's at the church or vinyl. beta is a great club, but every club can improve in some aspect and if you're ever to the point where you don't think that's the case then that's the point when you lose your edge. thankfully the concept of beta is to continually evolve and assuming that brad et. al. stick to that plan then all should go well.

for what it's worth, while it's hands down the best sound in denver, imo the f1 could still use some tweaking...

oh and i reserve the right to "bitch" about whatever i so desire, as the consumer who is spending my hard earned money at that club if there is something that i feel doesn't work and i have the opportunity to say something about that, then i will

cheers

How so can the F1 get some tweaking? Are you a sound engineer? If so, please tell me so I can tell Isaac to "tweak" it better for your taste.

As far as me saying people bitch too much here in Denver... I wasnt refering to you but guess you took it that way so be it. You should know with all your bickering that SoCo is going to shit.

personally i don't think the system needs 'tweaking' as much as the volume needs to be turned down...seemed to be more of a problem when the club first opened though, last time i was there was burridge and the sound was ridiculously good

It's the stupid ass headliners that think loud = good. They get told to NOT redline but some of them do anyway. Oakie had that place blasted Jesus Christ was it loud!!! Starkillers also had it cranked up way too loud.

i'm glad you went right past the part where i said that clearly beta is the best club in denver and it's also the only club that i care to see anyone at and went straight to where i had a comment that one could construe as negative.

from a perspective of the sound has been [at past gig's - burridge was the last time i've been to beta - and it was phenomenal - so much so that i even commented on the sound on a local board - and i wasn't the only one] too loud, now i wear earplugs so it's not the end of the world for me, however that's all i meant by that. i didn't realize that i had to be a sound engineer to comment on that fact.

i didn't take anything personally all i did was respond to your post about people bitching, the point i was trying to make was that whilst you view it as bitching, some of us on the other side view it as constructive criticism - i comment on what i like as well, it's a two way street.

regarding soco i don't know if that was something you were just saying or if it was directed at me - but anyone with half a brain who's been in the scene in denver for any length of time would know that brad brought in all the talent for regas so it stood to reason that when brad went to beta he would take most of the talent with him. half a year into beta's exsistence that has clearly been the case...regas has some work to do if he wants vinyl/church to continue to be as they once were (doesn't appear to be happening from what i've seen).

lol this is such a common theme, we have the same issue here. good djs know how to manage the levels perfectly while the shit djs take it upon themselves to make the crowd deaf. the ones you named don't surprise me in the least
