You make it seem as if Avalon is so much better than Vanguard when the fact of the matter is they're both equally horrible.
Half of the entertainment from these types of events comes from the audience. The LA EDM audience is...well...if its not the drugged out Asians then its the Middle Eastern guys who enjoy a glaring at everyone.
I'd rather save up money and head overseas to some real parties...
Ricky you make an astute observation.
Sometimes I just don't understand how people can take for granted how lucky we are to have the talent that we have come though LA on a regular basis. And on top of it, have to of the best venues in the country blocks apart. Any given Saturday night you have a choice of what superstar talent you want to see. Not to mention all the events going on the rest of the week. September 13th for example you have the choice of Sander Kleinenberg or John Digweed. Hell you could go see Digweed and walk down the street and still catch a couple hours of Sander and both by the way on two of the worlds best sound systems. Oh...and if that's not enough for you can go to Nocturnal and catch another 12 or more of the worlds biggest djs. You're going to find douchebags and people on too many drugs in every club and event all across the coutry and the world. It blows me away somethimes how spoiled LA clubbers can be. If you really think it's so much better overseas feel free to go there and stay there.

| Originally posted by Hypersky The thing that makes the southern california market so appealing for clubbers - namely the variety of DJs that frequent the area - paradoxically also serves to make it somewhat unappealing. The market gets oversaturated with the same acts week in and week out which inevitably leads to a clubbing population with higher expectations that cannot always be met. Ultimately, its the clubbers that define the market, not the DJ - which is why going to a show to see (pick a DJ) is quite a different experience in Ibiza than in LA, or likewise in London versus Toronto. To me, the LA scene is and always will be amazing, but I also know that it its a good idea to wherever possible travel to other cities to see DJs in a completely different environment. |
this will be my 2nd time seeing digweed and my 1st @ vangaurd!! Excited to say the least

Bought my ticket this morning. I'm spoiled; would like more than a 4am ending time, but I'll take Digweed goodness.
