Purolator. Yech. UPS is the worst though. If they can't deliver to your house (who the hell is home during the day Mon-Fri?), they'll send it to a stupid depot, which around here is open 4:30-6:30pm ONLY on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Such a bitch to get something from them. JUST SEND IT TO MY NEAREST UPS STORE OH WAIT, THE UPS STORES DON'T EVEN USE UPS TO SHIP STUFF, USUALLY FRIGGIN CAN-PAR

UGH

could someone clarify that bolded statement?

It means that you have to seek out foreign citizenship that wasn't given to you naturally (birth, parents). So for example I was born with Canadian/American/British citizenship because of where I was born and the citizenships my parents have...I naturally have all three citizenships and didn't voluntarily ask to have them.

Now if I were to go apply for citizenship in say....Australia which I'm voluntarily seeking I would most likely lose my US citizenship.

ahh there we go. so i was told correctly.

i wasn't born in the US or canada. so that's why i could lose my US citizenship if i applied for one in canada.

i guess it all depends on your situation.

Hahah, yeah, I had something shipped to me via UPS and it was such a bitch to pick it up. The thing too is that they keep trying your house when no one is around 3 times, and then it goes to their fucking depot. I remember calling them and telling them, "I'm not going to be home, so can you jackasses just send it to depot right away?" "No no, we will try your house for a whole week and then it'll be transferred to the depot so that you will have to wait an extra week before you can get it."

nope...

Myself along with my sister, along with a dozen of our friends and relatives were not born in the US or Canada, and neither were our parents; and we all have dual citizenship.

You have to understand that in order to forfeit your US citizenship you have to apply WITH THE INTENTION of giving up your US citizenship.

As it concerns Canada, like I said, Canada and US have a very rare agreement which grants their citizens the right to dual nationality despite their own or their parents country of birth, so long as they are citizens of one of the two countries.

I suspect the reason you are misinformed is that American dual nationality laws outside of Canada, are very different and specific to the applicant countrythose are specifically on a situation-situation basis.

But there's space on the paper they stick at the door, you sign it and tell them to either send it to a neighbor or put it somewhere around the house.

in my area they leave a notice to say they will be coming back the next day. if you arent home the next day then it goes to the depot. fedex does the same thing here.

Tell me about it. I recall dealing w/ similar BS when i lived in Waterloo. Nearest depot was fucking kitchener! (SON OF A BITCH!)

I didnt drive then, and coudlnt arrange for a friend who had a car (they were few) to take me during the weak-ass hours of operation. figuring out the bus route and schedules to get me there was bloody hell. What a waste of almost 1/2 a fucking day.

Once a package was sent from the US with 3 day expected delivery. I guess once it got to CDN side, it ended up in Purolator's hands. Never got a single notice, never heard the buzzer ring once, and it was MIA for 11 days. Finally picked it up from their depot, and it had 9 attempted delivery stickers slapped on it, not one with a single date/ time written in on it. So I call bullshit. F*ck that company.

What the heck are you doing in Saskatoon instead of somewhere more civilized, say, Toronto?

Posted by Jem_hadar on Aug-16-2008 15:33:

Ya, Nat. I had a package sent to me from the US last month, and it got held up at the border for over a week.

All it was was fucking 3 DVDs.

Did you get a reason why? Purolator seems to be awesome at not calling customers.

Turns out when my granny finally got the package they couldn't even see the address on the front! Wouldn't the person who took the package from me in Saskatoon have noticed that and said something?

My grandma sent the package back via Canada Post courier and it got to me the next day at 9am. It was also 5 dollars cheaper!

No, they never said why. I think all those stickers were just slapped on there to make it look like they tried. There wasn't 1 signature or time attempted filled in on any of them. And it was just a package of my mail, nothing worthy of being held up at customs. And I lived in a building with 6 units, with the LOUDEST front door buzzer ever, everyone could hear it if they rang, and there were a couple of people that were home during the days too, so I dont believe they even tried once. Total joke.
