At least Bolt is not doped.

Sir Steve Redgrave > Phelps.

Why? Well, for what was in Lesbianosaurs quoted text

quote:
Redgrave won gold medals in five consecutive Olympics while rowing in three different boat types.

It's all well being in the peak of condition for one or two olympics but to do it with different teams & over that period of time wins it for me.

Posted by MeLLyMeL on Aug-16-2008 18:16:

this is bull shit.

i want to see that Usain video. I watched the olympics last night and didn't see shit.

I hate that I have to stay up till 2 am just to see these stupid olympics!

Every piece of technology like that has a margin of error. If the tag is within that margin, the coaches have a case.

omg.. the replay is on at 2-4 am and I'm going out tonight.

Primetime Replay
Deena Kastor won bronze in the 2004 women's Olympic marathon. She tries for another in Beijing. Also, the men's 100m final yields the "World's Fastest Man."

i wish i had dvr. :'(

it's definitely impressive what he has done in swimming. i really don't know how you can rank olympians against each other though because they are all so different. Best swimmer ever? that could probably be argued

Phelps might or might not be the greatest Olympian of all time. Carl Lewis was amazing in his prime. It's all too subjective, anyway. But what Michael Phelps is doing right now is NOTHING short of amazing. Period. You want more recognition, Kerri Walsh? Go suck your boyfriend's cock better than you've ever sucked a cock. He'll tell all his buddies. You'll get all the recognition you could ever want. Bet on that.

best of luck to phelps though.lets hope he breaks the "baltimore curse" of people and teams from here or competing here comin up short.they say the ravens finally broke it in 2000 but people say the curse lives on because of what transpired after the victory.(ie the orioles, barbaros, big brown etc....

Too bad you live in Vancouver. The penis of Canada.

My personal favorite Olympic swimmer is probably Alexander Popov.

He wasn't as versatile as Phelps, but he was so dominant and graceful at the same time within his events, the freestyle sprints. Watch him set the world record in 2000 in the 50M Freestyle:

Notice how he takes just thirty-one strokes to finish the race while everyone else takes around forty or forty-five.

The record was broken seven years later, but remember that Popov did this with no hyper-engineered body suit and no swim cap.

Anyone got a link to the Usain Bolt race? Can't find it anywhere and they already took down the video Mikey Mike posted...

Just saw it on TV...holy shit!!!

This guy is out of this world, he could've shattered the world record by an even bigger margin had he not start to slow down with still 15-20 meters to go. Just WOW

Phelps just won his eighth Olympic gold, by the way, in the 400M Freestyle relay.

Bolt is undoubtedly better now, but I have far more respect for Asafa Powell.

That bloke is unbelievable.
