There are quite a few difference between Beach club and Piknic Electronik...

Both have their good and bad sides.

If you like steroids, plastic boobs, strippers, the beach, vocal house music(danny torrence, chus & ceballos, etc...) then beachclub is the thing for you.

If you like a regular, not pretentious crowd, minimal-electro-technoish music mostly new talent from Europe and some MTL locals, a park with fountains, statutes, grass, parents with their kids and bring your own booz+food policy(even though there is still a bar there) then Piknic is for you... plus it is in Montreal and you don't have to drive 1hour away.

Both parties are fun and all and about people railing drugs infront of their kids.... People do drugs everywhere, and if you like seeing people shit themselves on G beachclub is famous for that too...

piknic = hippy, underground techno and tech house, very intimate

both are so different... cannot even compare

youd have fun at either party... don't let anyone tell you otherwise!

yeah its kind of annoying.. la mouche only does special events sun-thurs... fri and sat are the same old commercial style house week in week out...

Anyone know of any ways to get to beach club? From what I'm reading is that it's an hour outside of montreal? My friends and I aren't driving down so we won't have a car.

Does the Metro go out there? or are there any shuttle buses?

yes there's a shuttle service...

i'd check the web site and call before, just to get the schedule right. Their website doesn't seem to be updated that often.

The shuttle leaves from berri metro, which is near Circus Afterhours. 2 blocks.

Might as well post here...

A bunch of us are heading down for labour day weekend as well - can someone recommend a good hotel? (location is key) idealy somewhere around the clubbing district would be cool; and something not too expensive.

Also, I haven't been to montreal in years, what are some good clubs to check out? we're arriving there sat morning. I'd like to check out a at least one good rock club in addition to some good trance/house places.

recommendations would be great
