Ask for your money back, and buy yourself a sense of humor.

Haha. I actually love comedy movies, but I didn't find myself appreciating the sense of humor in the movie. I have no idea why. I'm surprised too, because I loved humor such as: Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, ATHF, et cetera. Just didn't find tropic thunder to be enjoyable at all.

+1. Thought it was another over hyped yank wannabe comedy that just didn't make me laugh much at all.

or the part where the wanna-be veteran (guy who wrote the book) chimes in the conversation and then less grossman is like "who the fuck are u" and then he's like "i'm the guy who wrote the book" then less grossman is like "oh. well, sir...this country owes you a debt of gratitude...now if you don't mind. SHUT THE FUCK UP"

Jack Black was fucking annoying in an otherwise pretty good movie.

like zoolander, it basically makes fun of "hollywood" and actors in general and how ridiculous that whole scene can be, only zoolander was making fun of the male model industry. the only reason i can think of for someone not finding the humor in tropic thunder (aside from having no sense of humor) is if you are one of those types who really takes hollywood seriously and is addicted to gossip mags, etc... lol

Thank you. As for Zoolander. This movie cannot even come close to comparing with Zoolander, for Zoolander's humor was far more developed and much more enjoyable to watch (many more memorable quotes as well). I personally have never even seen a gossip mag, and I understand its making fun of hollywood. Alas, there's something about the film that isn't great. The humor is there, it simply doesn't work.

Omg.

I seriously do not understand how you could find Zoolander funny and not Tropic Thunder, but whatever. lol

i like white american cheese, yellow american cheese i just dont understand.

Posted by Echo of Silence on Aug-26-2008 02:45:

I just bought one thing of white cheddar cheese and one thing of orange (yellow?) cheddar cheeese. I didn't know it came in two colors.

I like white american cheese on Philadelphia cheese steak sandwiches. In Philadelphia. No where else in this country do they make Philly cheese steak sandwiches like they do in Philly.

lol, ja ja ja, but there's this deli near my school in California that sells "Philly cheese steak sandwiches." And I bought one in Arizona. And I bought one in Washington DC which isn't that far from Philly if you think about it. And none of the Philly cheese steak sandwiches that I bought outside of Philly even taste a little like the Philly cheese steak sandwiches. It kind of pisses me off. Why would you name a sandwich that if you know it tastes nothing like that? lol, I know why; because there's always suckers like me who will buy one. haha

Posted by Vlad on Aug-26-2008 03:16:

lol, its that Philly grease... they have it no where else.

Haha. I know it's hard to talk seriously about a comedy, but zoolander is a far more developed comedy. watch them both again. it's obvious.

If you went into this movie with the thought of developed movie, or any kind of preconceived notions - this is where you failed miserably.

I went to this movie knowing that Ben Stiller had been wanting to produce it for the past two decades. Watched it, and thought it looked like it had been written in less than a week. There's just nothing great about this movie and it doesn't fit together well. It's just something that no one is going to be watching a year from now.

I know I will... Ive watched the movie twice, and laughed both times.
