All cultures have some form of kebabs... no doubt. But "shashlik" is an Uzbek word (Tashkent used to be "Shashkent" long ago), and I think Russians took plov to Russia from Uzbekistan a while back too. So yeah they have them in Russia in their own way, but I believe their origins are from Uzbekistan

Plov, aka Pilaf, is a Persian originated dish, as are kababs.

Nothing beats Spanish food imo. The selection of hams, cheeses, and fresh sea food help create some great dishes. And lets not forget the wine

lol how far back do we have to go? The area that's now Uzbekistan was part of the Persian empire. Now I'm wondering if we should call it a Hittite or Sumarian dish Either way, that shit was being made in Uzbekistan before mother Russia jacked the recipe

I might have to agree with you Nachos. Spanish food is fucking awesome, probably my favourite of all. Maybe Turkish though (but that's quite similar to Greek anyway).

Tapas FTW

Well I am not trying to go too far back, but Persians are all over that area in general. So to say it is an "Uzbek" dish is quite inaccurate as it is really a Persian dish that Uzbeks along with a host of others make.

jk... I guess it could be said for all mediterranean countries, except the dishes teh Spanish create are far superior to my pallet.

I'm just sayin... it's more Uzbek than Russian. (this is some serious hair splitting we're doing)
