I think now u do realize "tranceaddicts" what the producers are trying to do to this city
Creating a competetive vibe for the good of montreal and them ofcourse
So instead of winin all the time about who'se better just be greatful that we'r not some of those american cities where clubs close at 3am! and u can't even see 1 so so Dj!
No offense for you guys but maybe you should look at it from producers point of view (with professionalism ofcourse)

man i remember 
I was sure it would be in the main hall of the old forum. Its the only place with 2 mezzanines, it has one or two giant screens and is large enough to hold 4K people. the good part is those mezzanines give you a very nice view of what's happening down.

what no one realizes is that trance lovers represent 10-15% of our scene...thats why when armin, ferry etc come..its not packed...but its full for tech djs

El see, in response to your questions :
1. I don't know why you hear ONLY bass, the sound system used at the Molson Centre is the Phazon system with V-Dose. It's the same system used by Sasha & Digweed and club Twilo in New York. We have the best sound engineers in the city tuning the system and the only complaints I have gotten is from you.
2. We bring trance dj's on a regular basis, but the focus of Friday nights have always been Techno, ever since 1996. We have the longuest running techno night in North America, and a legion of fans that support it every weekend !
Also it's hard to get trance DJ's because they are very much in demand around the world and ARIA aggressevely goes after those Dj's.
We try our best to get people like Tiesto, Mauro Picotto and Timo Maas on a regular basis.

I think that Dan was talking about the sound system at raves being a Twilo.. And its true that it comes out clear (answering El-See's question).
The sound system at Sona is a Turbosound; hopefully, during the move, they'll get a new and better system.

well, i would have to agree with all in saying the the sound is much better at 514 raves than it is at sona, maybe its because raves have bigger air room for the sound to travel... also, the sasha/digweed night at sona last march was the best sound come out of sona that i have ever heard... i dont know if the sasha/digweed team changed the speakers, or anything else related, like they did to everything else, but the sound that came out was crisp and very clear, you were able to hear every noise that the djs were throwing at us, too bad it was too packed, which was the main downfall...

Sound system
Hey guys,
I was talking about the sound at bigger events, i.e. CREAM, SWIRL, CELEBRATION etc...
As for the sound at SONA, the problem is not the TURBO SYSTEM, it's the constant change from "EQ-ing" the system for Techno DJ vs House DJ vs Trance DJ.
every time we have a guest the mixer has to be changed and the sound system adjusted and you will notice that the system sounds better when a local is playing instead of a guest.
Also, you have to understand the dynamic effect the room has on the system. Lower frequencies, i.e. Bass, carry thru any object while the Higher frequencies don't.
For example; SONA has lower ceillings then ARIA and a smaller dance floor. When the club is full the Higher soundwaves are absorved by the clientele, leaving mostly bass. While at ARIA their are less people and more space and therefore the highs carry much better.
That's why nights with Armin and Ferry sound clearer, it's because the place was not full.
And finally, the only reason why we are not changing the sound system, is because we are moving and getting a FULLY customized Phazon system for the new space. And changing the existing SONA system would be a waste of money.
PS I won't answer any question about the move, since those matters are very sensitive.

Dan, I don't want to start a debate but Ferry Corsten night was not over crowded but it was packed.
I have to tell you that we got really good numbers at Armin Van Buuren night also.
I think the system at Aria is way more powerfull than Sona system.
But since the room is bigger, we need this extra.
But we just added for 80 000$ of sound in Aria main room so TA,s ,let me tell you something:
People who will come to Aria tonight (May 31) you will see a big difference in the sound at Aria.
We want to get the best sound system in North America and we are working like crazy on this right now.

Good for you Biggy, I'm sure your Dad would be proud.
But the best sound System in North America is at Club Stereo.
It has the best room size, best configurations, best clarity, best DJ booth( gold plated turntables!!!) and the best man in the business to tune the system in Angel Moraes.
Also the FORZA PARTY will start on Saturday June 8th and end on Sunday June9th. NOT ON FRIDAY,
but if you are eager for some trance Tiesto will be joining Timo Maas at SONA on Friday for a special appearance...
