I wish I could have gone w/ you.

Senior year is amazing!
You know the ropes... you know what to expect of yourself and of profs... if you set yourself up the first 3 years then it has all the possibility to be the best year. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT

I just moved into residence to start my second degree and i WANT TO DIE RIGHT NOW with all these 17 year old running around with their Frosh WEEK YAAAAA t-shirts and paint on their faces
DIE

and I'm "techinically" first-year because it is my first year at THIS campus

i miss senior year

anyway... GO TEAM
pay attention to your studies ffs too

Senior year of HS and my first two years of college I did nothing but party. Now I'm a senior about to graduate with a chemistry degree and it is kind of scary because I'll have to figure out how to worm my way into grad school (can I really take another four years of math and science with out going totally insane?) or start on my career path and that is causing some apprehension.

.

Sounds like you had a crappy highschool.

Junior year for me, I'm so not looking forward to it.

No man it was really cool... at the time. It's just that college was 10 times better, being away from home and discovering REAL parying and women, and then being out of school and making some actual money gave me opportunities to travel to europe and asia and experience things I couldn't dream of while taking Algebra 2. Hindsight I guess

last 2 years of high school for me were awesome.
pretty much i was x100 times worse then ferris bullers day off style.
probabaly why i did a victory lap.

High school sucked so bad. You will hate it

Posted by winston on Aug-27-2008 01:53:

In spite of the bitter 7 AM compulsory attendance, a staggering two week examination period for the IB (picture a hall where every desk is aligned as if we were in soviet russia). In spite of having to wear a tie (i'm a windsor knot expert), black shoes and a white t-shirt with the british flag proudly printed on the left hand corner, senior year was a hairsplitting and pestering debris of academic merit and english arrogance.

High school was a bit...suffocating, now that I look back from college. Mostly the problem was that I wasn't very proactive about having fun and unwinding. The hour commute each way to school and fuckton of work (and being an obsessive overachiever) didn't help either, but that's certainly no excuse. Not that I didn't have any fun - but I feel like I wasted a lot of my time (besides the work) and didn't make my downtime a concrete priority.

I have even more work now in college, but I've learned to just be more laid back, to not be afraid to go outside my comfort zone, meet new people, and to just not waste my time (still working on that one...)

Oh how I coveted all of my lucky friends who attended an 'American high school' their lives seemed as easy as falling off a log.

hey, you went to HS around cambridge?

and you're bulgarian! i have a bunch of Bulgarian friends. cool people!

Posted by diesel_tron3000 on Aug-27-2008 03:36:

yeah fuck high school, college was so much sweeter i don't care what anyone says. drinking 15 beers and being sloppy is way more fun than drinking 15 beers and being wasted. plus college has hotter girls who fuck more and cooler more available DEA scheduled substances to fool around with.

but seriously i just graduated university and so many people leave with the belief that it's time to be serious because you need to be serious to make money which is not true at all. fuck that shite. i had a job at bear stearns before they went under that i got in like january and was supposed to start my 'career' there this past june. i'm stoked i've been able to sit on my ass all summer rippin gravity bongs, playing online poker, reading the wall street journal, watching EURO 2008, the tour de france, the olympics and now the DNC in denver.

do your own shite. one thing i remember from literature class...

"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."

im asking because i start school next week as a senior.

so share your experiences.

Hated it. I wish I could go back and change a lot of things, especially my yearbook quote.

Anyways, senior year seems all big now, but after a couple years, it won't mean a damn thing anymore. You'll be in college, where real education starts. You'll be an adult making your own decisions. Even as a senior in high school, you're still a child, and nobody really gives a fuck about you unless your a college bound athlete with agents drooling over you to go to their university. I hardly ever think about my senior year except for how f*cked up I used to get all the time..

Posted by chach on Aug-27-2008 13:10:

I started the year off by telling everyone how much I fucking hated them and was so sick of their holier then thou attitude.

yep. graduating class of 2001. our class decided at the last minute that we wanted to have our senior prom at a baller location, but they were booked completely until the end of June... so our prom actually ended up being held after our graduation, and the last prom held at Windows On The World.

I loved my Senior year. I actually went to school about 50% of the time but still managed not to get in trouble for it even once, pull well over a 3.0 average, and generally not run into the kinds of issues I had the first three years of high school.

For me, Senior year was great. Prom was odd (interestingly enough for basically the same reason as Myra - went with a girl I'd known forever, good friend, didn't want it to be more than that, she did), but in general it was a pretty fun and laid back year.

my ex boyfriend was originally from Brookfield, but was living out in NY. he decided to come back to be closer to his family and i was kind of at a point in my life where i felt like i needed to make some big changes to avoid getting stuck where i was at... so i decided to follow him out here. we broke up a year later but i stuck around since i had a really good job.

aaaand 6 years later and i'm still here. must be something in the beer.

Only thing I regretted not doing was putting that freshman in hospital for stealing my GF who was senior that year with me lol. Other then that our last prom was a living hell because the junior that year felt they where so special and wanted to steal the show but in end 12 junior football players got asses beat and where at prom with black eyes lol.

No I'm actually going to school in cambridge right now (massachusetts, not UK ) -- I went to high school in NYC though. Why do you ask?

That's pretty cool - where do you live? there aren't that many bulgarians in new york city (well, a few thousand spread out all over, but there's no big community)

Posted by Allied Nations on Aug-28-2008 02:17:
