The DNC was kick ass. Obama's speech was awesome!

i have to say, i'm conservative and although i wasn't happy about voting for mccain, i was def gonna do it. but after watching barack's speech last night and his overall attitude/plan for america, i might have to change my mind. i like sarah palin though too now, so i'll most likely stick with mccain, but i definitely like barack now much more than i did before.

either way though, it's cool cos we'll either have our first black person OR woman in the office.

Sarcastic as that statement may be, people seriously think that because he speaks well, is intelligent, and looks like he works out a little bit means that he's not like them. Why not vote for someone more like them? Old, confused and white > Young, intelligent and black
because he will turn the goverment into a big KFC

I just do not understand how someone could look at America's current status in the world and think that voting for McCain is a good call. Bush sucked/sucks and McCain is Bush, just older.

haha again i dont understand how someone can vote for something based on a speech. Did you not know his stands before he went into that speech? Obama and Mcain are so different...

maybe you are just uniformed like most voters.

Posted by josh rising on Aug-29-2008 19:13:

no, i understood SOME of barack's views before this speech. this speech just sent the wheels of motion turning (slowly) in my head. and i didn't say i was even voting for him, i just said it made me like him more.

and yeah i might be uninformed but at least i am making an effort.

It's good that you're making an effort to exercise your right to vote, but please make it a goal to learn about the candidates positions on serious issues. You may find that one candidate has a policy you prefer over the other. Please don't be an average, stupid american that votes simply based on the fact that he sounds smart, doesn't wear a flag pin, is old, confused, or muslim.

For the same reason people voted for Bush over Kerry... You pick the best of the worst.

Im a conservative, and I can never see myself voting for some with socialist views. They tried socialism in Russia, and we all see how well that turned out with people trying to flee the country.

You're seriously a moron, aren't you.

I guess Germany is socialist as well now, funny how their economy is stronger than the USA's and no one is fleeing Germany, in fact hundreds of thousands of people flee TO Germany every year. (Germany is just an example btw).

And take my country for example (I'm refering to Canada, I am also an American on paper). We are considered "socialist" by you I suspect, and our economy which is almost purely dependant on yours is significantly stronger right now and we are barely feeling any effects apart from elevated gas prices.

Protectionism and other democratic economic policies work, the classic tax slashing and pocket lining the Republicans are known for does not work in this day and age.

I just realized, you may not even be talking about the economy, and probably aren't given most republicans/conservatives wouldn't know how to spell inflation, so if it's values and social reform you're clinging so dearly to then ha. I bet you were clapping in front of your TV when that tard Rick Warren was handing questions to McCain on a silver platter. "AT THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION".

Classic.

Thus why I dont like talking politics. The responses are as quality as the people they support.

Fair enough, it is the internet so I dont have to worry about getting my ass kicked so I guess it was wrong to call you a moron.

But come on man, as if John McCain really represents conservative values about anything APART from the economy.

Don't you agree that the generic republican model for economics has been failing for 8 years?

lmao..

It's sad, but I heard a poll recently where at least 30% of Americans still thought Obama was a muslim.. He's not.
