This summer I didn't really party at all.
I think that the only event I attended was WEMF.
I don't know what it was, but personally, the parties this summer were ok. Nothing really blew my mind.
Only three ROCKED my socks.
Digweed @ Guv
Sean Miller @ the Docks
Gregor @ Cherry Beach
However, I can't WAIT until October. dun dun dun. Carl Calderone Beyer. <3
Anything Insomnia
Anything Rehab
Hatiras boat
Beats ahoy may2-4 weekend (the 1st one of the summer)
The odd gallery nights
Can't wait for danny howells though...!!!
For me, I have fun anywhere, so for something to be labelled "the best" party of anything, there is a certain qualifier that must be met.
That qualifier is that I must be repeatedly checking the time & cursing how much has passed so quickly & thereby dreading the end of the set/night/party.
So now that my odd criterion is out of the way, here are the events/nights/parties that had me clock-watching this summer:
(in no particular order)
Kaskade cruise
Insomnia goes to Rehab @ FW
The Nutbusters Ball @ Smiling Buddha
Techno-viking inspired street party
That said, I had a great time pretty much anywhere I went this summer thanks to the people I was with. As far as I'm concerned, it's the people that make the party.
So with that, if I was able to join you on the dancefloor/boat/balcony/rooftop/at the zoo/beach/or even on the street wearing a viking helmet, then thank you for being a part of a great time. Also, here's to doing it a few more times, b/c until it's too cold to be outside in the sun without a jacket on, summer is NOT over folks!

I will always miss Toronto summer shindigs. The only and best party for the summer for me was Danny Tenaglia @ Beta doing a 5 hour set in May, Memorial Day weekend. He banged the effin' hell out of that sick sweet soundsystem (a soundsystem that makes me remember Sonic, btw - BEST sound I've heard since then - Graham & RJ, you'd appreciate this place - too bad it's only open till 2am).
Upcoming we get Hawtin and Lawler so let's see if at least Richie can abuse that system as well as Tenaglia did.

I maintain, however, that the summer is not over yet. Maybe for dirty broke-ass vagrant students it's over, but for me it's over when the temperature drops below 15 in the afternoon.
Oh, and just for fun, my votes for worst go to Viva Toronto (only Laidback Luke stopped me from going straight home) and the SOS Cruise (understand that this was hard for me to say, I love SOS, but that was an all-around disappointment and ripoff). Honourable mention in this category goes to the End of Summer BBQ for failing to occur on schedule or at all.
fuck this is a toughie...

I thought this summer was pretty lacklustre in terms of parties. The Loco Dice boat cruise and Gregor Tresor at Cherry beach day was super super fun. Although Loco was nothing even close to impressive as a DJ it was a fun party and Gregor at the beach was a totally unexpected out of nowhere awesome time. The time festival was also really fun. Heidi rocked it.
Not only did this summer lack lustre it lacked SUN fuck.
I made the best of it of course, but what a shit summer.
I hate to kinda rub it in...well, no i dont
But my best party of the summer will very likely be one of the following :
1 of either 2 Circoloco's at DC-10
1 of 2 Sundays at "We Love..." @ Space on Sundays with Sasha, Zabiela, and Danny Howells
Carl Cox closing party @ Space
Some random shenanigans with Shanahan
this may have been the only party i went to this summer but it was for sure one of the best parties i've been to in a few years.
10 Year House of OM Party @ Mod Club
