Techno tends to be much quicker than house and trance ie >45bpm used to be a good idea of a techno track. Nowadays tho, techno is such a vague description for trance-type music that is much more widely played in the US than the UK.

I already have the Chris McCormack track. It's hard but it's a bit too 'fuzzy'. Good but not great IMO.

I'll check out the other one. I got Dave the Drummer - Fat Arse and didn't think much of it. More acid than hard, which is OK but I don't think it's really my cup of tea.

By the way, what is schranz techno or something? People keep saying that is Chris Liebing's style. What is it? Cos I like his style from what I've heard so far.

Hey djeebie, it's not enough info that u are giving... Hydraulix is just a name of the dave's label. U should be more specific when u refer to it.

I would recommend D.A.V.E. the Drummer & Ant - Hydraulix 1 A-side and Hydraulix 12 dave's side <--- now that's massive

I like Sygno Power and Sin Drome, hard as fuck!

I also really like a track called:

Sean Colt - New Souls.

Do you recommend any similar stuff?

(I'll download the rest when I have space on my comp).

Thanks for the info. But when I asked for some hard techno a few weeks ago you posted a list and there you said D.A.V.E. The Drummer - Hydraulix. So I thought that was only one song. But I know better now

Posted by Jukx on May-29-2002 19:26:

or, for some hard techno, check Marco Remus' new album (it has been released lately) Remus fr die Massen.

Yes, I heard them, but I wouldn't call them acid (they only have a few acid chewns) and more definitely I wouldn't call them techno. They lean more towards Hard House/Hard Trance. And frankly, I would like them more if they didn't have that cheese they have in their tracks sometimes. However, they do have some perfect works: I really like 'Reformation (original and Liberator DJs mix)', 'Machine' that has a tasty acidline in the second part, 'Go in Hard', and Lawrie Immersion's remix of 'Genetic Response' which is a really cool acid techno monster But the rest is pretty average (just not my style)

Posted by tiesto14 on May-30-2002 04:19:

i have a question for the techno heads....where OH where on earth do you find tracklists for the live sets???????

i REALLY wanna venture into techno...but i am a freak for live sets and not singles....but i stop myself from getting lives because i can never find tracklists for the sets...ANYWHERE...

any suggestions?

Posted by evil_bastard on May-30-2002 04:50:

Tiesto14, check here for tracklists and downloads to start you off.

http://freunde.board.dk3.com/index.php

It's a fairly dead forum but has a few tracklists on there.

It's set up by some AG techno group I'm in called "Freunde elektronischer Tanzmusik - Friends of electronic Dancemusic". It's a big group with knowledgable people in.

Read text at: Schranz

Posted by evil_bastard on May-30-2002 10:42:

Thanks New Wave, although I still don't really understand the term Schranz.

PS. I can't get enough of Chris Liebing - CLR01 (Gaetano Parisio mix). That is the best techno tune I have heard yet!

Btw, why are techno tunes so bloody hard to find on Audiogalaxy?

lol

you just gotta know how to search for them =p

but it's more difficult to find techno than trance because there are lots of more ppl that listen to trance than techno =(

1. this is not true for most of the famous techno producers i.e. DJ Rush, Carl Cox, Jeff Mills, Thomas Schumacher, Alexander K. Katz, Umek, Dave Clarke, Chris Liberator, D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Thomas Chrome (Krome), Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing etc...
2. check your spelling - many techno producers use their real names which are hard to spell (especially german names)
3. try other ways of searching for what u need. use so-called AG tricks 'caz audiogalaxy has one of the shittiest search engines evah!
4. it works fine for me most of the time
