Desyn used to hammer this one back in 2006. It's on his legendary 'Live @ Club Home, Budapest - Feb 2006' set

I can do without the sax, as long as it's jazzy and deep... and sexy!

Hehe.. if you want jazzy Garnier, definitely go with

DJ Marky & XRS - Butterfly (Laurent Garnier Broken Beat Remix)

Original is drum'n'bass but Garnier goes pretty much into jazz with his broken beat version. Some of my other rather deep and "smooth" Garnier favs:

Laurent Garnier - Sweet Mellow D
Laurent Garnier - Feel The Fire
Laurent Garnier - The Dream (New Age Mix)
Laurent Garnier - Breathless
Laurent Garnier - Last Tribute From The 20th Century; especially the live version is cool just like the '06 live version of Acid Eiffel
Alaska - At Night
Elegia - Basic (Laurent Garnier Remix)
The Reese Project - I Believe (Laurent Garnier Frenchman In Stoke-On-Trent Ambient Chill Baseroom Mix)

There's also the '07 live album Public Outburst which i don't have yet so can't say more about the tracks on it. Many Garnier's live tracks overall seem to feature alot of sax or clarinet, much more than the studio versions. For example the Butterfly remix is one of the live tracks on the album so it should be good - will grab it soon.

calabria and the man with the red face are jazzy?

they have sax on them

Posted by lcid on Sep-12-2008 20:58:

more piano jams... these are bordering more on "hands in the air" rather than jazzy and deep, but still good shit.

T&F vs Moltosugo - La Serenissima
Asle - Golden Sun (Haji & Emanuel Remix)
Sonique - Tonight (Haji & Emanuel Instrumental)

i've got an aching desire to listen to some old Desyn sets now.

D-Pulse
Martinez
Acos Coolkas
Babak Shayan
Frankman
Jon Silva
Roberto Bardini(a bit on the deeper side)
Steven Garcia should hit the spot though. Absolutely fantastic deep, jazzy house.
Also, check out the deep house section on traxsource.com. Huge collection of straight up house. It's where I found RyRalioDJs - Sultry Blue. Green Bay level of cheese for the lyrics, but the track itself is fucking stunning.

That's a great update of John Coltrane's 1965 original which is an instrumental jazz piece. Overall i think i still prefer the "Dub In The House Mix" of Will Downing's version because i prefer less vocals.

Can't see the original you linked because i get "This video is not available in your country." message.

hey david.michael

once you have some of the recommendations by Myra, can you please post them here?

as a deep house lover, with occasional jazzy sound, i'd like to add these;
quote:

The i! label, which features a lot Kevin Yost releases
The label which makes the 'Bargrooves' compilations
Jazztronik (he's a Japanse producer)
Kerri Chandler
Francois Dubois
Osunlade
loads of stuff on the SuSU label
DJ Pippi
Sin Plomo
The first (cd) releases on the Hed Kandi label (1999-2004)

also, the Japanese can be masters on the deep-, soul-, and chillhouse;
quote:

Hideo Kobayashi
Masanori Ikeda
Satoshi Fumi

if i could, i'd like to give you a look on my 500GB ext HD, which is full of EDM; there's load more. i think some 25% is soulful & deephouse. then u could explain u better whats around
