hardstyle is where its at....that fluffy cheese trance that DJs spin nowadays makes me want to take drugs....hardstyle at least gets me moving.

Posted by Frenkieee on Sep-10-2008 20:51:

This is the crap we have to put up with on a daily basis. Thank god the 'real' hype is over now. Even grandma's and little kids (and by little I mean aged 6 and under) were trying to jump. Sheez, don't really want to be around such people.

And lulz at comparing this with techno

i hate trip hop.. i even yell at the speakers, like an old guy sitting next to a midget, "wheres the rest of you?"

I used to listen to hardstyle way back when, a lot of people in europe like that music...

Cocaine + hardstyle is like the only reason I see people would like it....

But yea, after listening to proper house/techno...

You can see how simplistic this music really is.

It has no soul

+1

It's the simplest task in the world to make a Hardstyle song. Get a heavy kick sample, a ride, an annoying synth, and a moogy bass (optional) and make a really stupid/minimalist melody with your annoying synth. Repeat. Variations in the track are not necessary.

Since I've heard stuff from that genre that's almost stomachable.

Drum n bass does not equal a hardcore genre. May as well say trance is too (concidering theres such a thing as hard trance)

Well you def suck now.

Also hardcore isn't a bad genre, its just like hard trance (hardstyle was never good) its allmost entirely cheese now. However when a decent jungle artist does a hardcore song and it gets chucked in a jungle set I certainly don't mind.

I've been getting into schranz recently and wow, its like similar tempo, and exact same idea (even similar kick sounds sometimes) but its amazing how much fucking more rythmn/melody there is in the tracks, and how much better it is because of it. Yet again proof that hardstyle sucks.

Theres also some quality heavy metal (or nu metal etc but would fall under heavy metal genre) so I think the term your looking for is actually death metal.

I love hardstyle and gabber. Does that make me a bad person irl?

Posted by netroM on Sep-11-2008 13:45:

I really like this one tbh.

This is way more epic happy hardcore than most Hardstyle/Jumpstyle tracks. I wouldn't even consider this Hardstyle.

Posted by Taranis on Sep-11-2008 14:16:

Yeah that's more UK hardcore/happy hardcore. Wicked track though.

It's the energy man, the energy.. like totally...

I know you're taking the piss, but that's pretty much it. Most techno/house/trance just don't have enough drive to it, I love it for general listening, but when it comes to actually dancing, I need something a bit harder and faster.

That's not my intention. But in America, people who don't know anything about electronic genres, just call it all "techno".
