The water is already over the sea wall. That's way before the storm even gets here, before the surge, before the predicted 50 foot waves and before the rain. My wife's family can kiss their house goodbye. This sucks.

Carlos & Enrique, I got your texts, but can't respond. Even texting isn't working for me atm. All's fine up here, except for the power & communications. I actually had power 'til 5:45 this morning.

just biding my time on the pacemaker & phone for now.

Has ANYBODY talked to Cory? His house is very close to the bay and he was staying throughout. Tried to call and text and have not heard from him.

Ive tried calling twice today...and nothing.

Last I heard he was at the studio and was going to stay throughout the storm...and that was yesterday.

Let's keep trying later though, as the network is nothing but FAIL today.

just talked to Cory..
everything's ok with them. Their power is out and they have no water. The call was dropped so hopefully he'll ring me later.

My unit got called up for hurricane duty, so I get to go swimming for the next two weeks or so. Probably Galveston, but I wouldn't be surprised if we get send to Beaumont, either.

I don't care, so long as we're done by Nov. 1; I have VIP tickets to Sasha at the Lounge and I ain't missing it over someone's busted-ass roof.

was wondering where the fark you've been, mr. roboto. Let me know when you get to Galveston so we can grab lunch at the Joe's Crab Shack there by Seawall.

I really wanted to cry when I saw the damage on the News here it Brooklyn. I hope you guys are safe and that everything will work itself out.

Posted by progress on Sep-16-2008 05:03:

What I am hearing from different friends in Houston/Pearland/Galveston is that the damage really isn't as bad as it seems. Lots of downed trees, power outages, broken glass, etc., but it could have been a lot worse. Basically was told it was just a really bad rainstorm, not a lot of damage but a lot of clean up.

Galveston on the other hand, if it wasn't behind the seawall, it was leveled.
