Washington Caps fan here. Mostly cos of the awesomeness of Ovechkin who was the first big name I saw in a live game and who's stick work, work rate and overall awesomeness just astounded me.

Aside from that, soft spot for calgary, mostly cos on the NHL computer games i've played them against my brothers leafs team due to his ontario-native fiancee, although he's at edmonton now so if i visit him after xmas hoping to take in an oilers game.

My predictions for each area are

Calgary
Sharks
Washington
Montreal
Pittsburgh

and im sure I'm missing a team or two out

Im not letting the preseason score to effect my opinion. I know the sharks have a new coach and a new style to get sorted. They also have a bunch of AHL guys out there so its not the same team that will be playing all season. Selanne didnt play when I was there, they were still sorting the contract.

Flames destroyed the oilers last night

Exactly.

The Oil have been poor in pre-season, but I have no doubt they'll pull it together for the big face-off.

I watched both of the opening games last night, the Pens-Sens game in particular was fun. And the giant globe-shaped stadium in Stockholm was unreal, very cool

And my division predictions are -
Northwest: Edmonton
Central: Detroit
Pacific: Anaheim
Northeast: Montreal
Atlantic: Pittsburgh
Southeast: Washington

Rangers scored on powerplays in successive games

Posted by elFreak on Oct-06-2008 04:10:

i have tickets to see the habs vs rangers this year.

my prediction = habs 174 blueshirts 1
