What is a crock of shit is that I get unlimited text for $4.99 a month because of a promotion I got on a long time ago and if I want this phone I loose that and have to pay them an extra $10 over the base data plan to get my unlimited messages back. All this and they won't have 3G here by 10/22 so I'd be paying that for shit EDGE service. I may have to pass on this, I'd be looking at a $70 a month bill increase for my two phones.

Why do you guys send so many fucking text messages? Why not just get an unlimited talk plan and talk to the people as much as you want?

Loosing this sounds good.

And yeah you have a reason to buy your phone outside of the promo.

im kind of glad i'm not addicted to small electronic devices, especially fancy cell phones. i could care less about mine. i spend just enough so that people don't make fun of my phone, but not enough to have fancy features like most people with blackberries and Iphones.

no time for the cell phone when i'm not in front of my computer.
when i'm away from my computer it's the one time i can like focus on shit i need to get done and get my immediate life in order lol

You know i have mixed feeling. I have verizon (Love them) and i have been waiting for the G-phone for the longest time. I know verizon is getting to get it eventually that's why i am not upgrading my Env just yet.

Now i hate apple. The whole mandatory itunes pisses me off. BUT after seeing the comparisons of the iphones vs the first Gphone, its pretty sad. I am hoping the phones get better. I would NOT get the t-mobile G-1. Its slower than the iphone, no multitouch, no internal memory. Also as a bad bouns, if you live in an area with 3G and you go over 1GB of bandwidth they will limit you to about 6KB!!!!

My personal opinion is to avoid it right now. Wait for another hardware manufacturer to come up with something, hopefully better.

First off, iTunes is not mandatory. You being someone who knows their way around computers, should know this.

Second, considering Android has come as far as it has from 1 year of serious development, the short time it has had is incredible. Not only is it something from scratch, it is more open and less bullshit than the iPhone. Also, it is it really slower? How do they determine that?

Winamp can do all audio and video transferring, and videora can do the video conversion.

The browsing, they both use the same browser base, so I can't see how browsing is much different.

And Android is more ready than people want to admit. The reason people are so hesitant and set on finding faults is because it is 100% new and is not tested. The iPhone has a stripped down partially rebuilt MacOS. When you have a base to start with, it is easy to adapt and mold it to what you want. Android was not this, and when you consider all, it is still badass. They still have a lot of work ahead of them, but it has a lot of potential.

The ONLY thing that you can't replicate is the iTunes Music Store.
