I'm jealous. We don't have that shit here in Miami. That picture is from the Smokey Mountains up in North Carolina which is where I'm going in 2-3 weeks

We vacationed in the Smokies last year. Navarre Beach this year. God, I hate driving.

What did you do there? I don't know what me and ss are going to do there. His mother was the one that invited me.

Mostly sat on my ass in the cabin, but there are all sorts of tourist traps. Gift shops, restaurants, Dollywood theme park, etc.

and it really sucks living in south florida during this time of the year. i never realize just how truly close we are to the holidays until i walk into a walgreens and see decorations and i'm like, "oh shit, what's the date today? is it october? omg the holidays are here" lol

we dont get leaves changing colors or weather changes...it's just always the same so i never really feel like the holidays are here

i used to hate going to Daytona Beach for Christmas.

if the ground isn't covered with snow, it feels like something is missing on Christmas.

i suppose it is quite fun to drink beer while wearing a sweater.

+1

if i don't have to wake up at 4 am to shovel the snow from our driveway, work all day, shovel snow for another couple of hours if i want to park the car in the garage, because of course during the time that the family was away another 60 or 70cm or so fell down, they sit in front of the fireplace with a hot mug of tea in my hands and wait for everyone to arrive with the presents it just doesn't feel like christmas.

Fun times, you people that live in places with nice warm weather all year round cant possibly understand how incomplete a christmas without snow feels

outside on a chilly day in front of a fire with friends ftw. There is no better way to beer.

beer good.

Posted by Neon Sky on Sep-30-2008 21:15:

pumpkin pie ftw

Posted by elFreak on Sep-30-2008 21:17:

yes, but have you tried pumpkin pie...on BEER?

Posted by lcid on Sep-30-2008 21:19:

i've actually been very curious to try some of the pumpkin spice beers that i see pop up in bars and stores around this time. i never take the chance just because i like my beer to be... well, just beer, with no additional weird flavors. have any of you tried any of them?

Posted by elFreak on Sep-30-2008 21:23:

i tried a pretty good pumpkin and oatmeal stout last year from a local microbrewery.

i wore a sweater.

it's probably one of the easiest pies to make, actually. do they sell canned pumpkin at the grocery stores over there?
