Almost 1st week

Hot
Houston(Artest and a healthy Yao might be the key to the 2nd round)
Still got a great coach
Atlanta(See last season)
Lakers(See last season)
New Orleans(See last season)
Toronto(Bosh got some much needed help for a contender in the east)

Cold
-Knicks have until they don't make the playoffs. PS Stop talking about maubury in every news article. I am sick of seeing "Maubury was inactive for tonight's game in the middle of a sentence about the recap!!
-Clips

Weird and in the mix
-Oklahoma got a win!
-Cleav
-Sixers

Rest of teams I have not tuned in just yet

I thought about this last night watching NY 1 sports call in show.

They should of kept Isiah for this last year of Maubury's contract. Now Donnie and D'antoni are in the middle of this and they don't like it one bit. We get to watch it unfold for another season. Everyone, even me for a sec was on the getting rid of Isiah bandwangon but now 1-2 record, boos already started at the garden and Maubury sitting there smilling making 21 mill. These are things you don't need at the beginning of another season!

Playoffs or D'antonio will quit..ok maybe next season to be fair.

Read all about it: Iverson headed to Pistons, Billups, McDyess returning to Denver

quote:
DETROIT -- A basketball official says the Denver Nuggets have traded former MVP Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess.

The official spoke Monday to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because the trade had not been announced. Detroit was determined to shake up its core last summer following a third straight exit from the Eastern Conference finals, but never made a major deal. Two games into the season, the Pistons have pulled off a blockbuster many expected months earlier. Pistons spokesman Kevin Grigg declined to confirm the trade, and messages were left for a Nuggets spokesman as well as for the agent of Billups and McDyess. Iverson, a four time NBA scoring champion with a career average of 27.7 points per game, is averaging just 18.7 points through three games this season with the Nuggets. Billups, a lottery pick out of Colorado by the Boston Celtics in 1997, will be making his second tour with the Nuggets. The 2004 NBA Finals MVP appeared in 58 games over the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons. McDyess, who joined the Pistons after they won the NBA title in 2004, was an All-Star for the Nuggets in 2001.

Iverson is a great player but I am sure players that go though x amount of teams are running out of time for their Ring.

we're like a week into the season and i've already lost interest

Raps! 3-0!

Bosh and ONeal... Calderon could have an all star year. Now if Bargnani gets a little more mean inside the paint, the Raps could go far in the East.

All the ingredients are there. It's just whether the team has the mentality to really want it

edit: the raps are really screwed if ONeal goes down for any long time due to injury

interesting trade. I've always liked AI but this pretty much ends it for now since I dont like the Pistons.Watch out for them now, serious contenders in the east now.

ummmm are the Nuggets giving up on their season already?I mean I know the AI - melo thing wasnt gonna get them past the 1st round anytime soon, but the nuggets pretty much got guys who used to be in their team back when they really sucked in Billups and McDyess. Both players arent exactly at their best anymore, but If anything though now itll be cool to call him Antonio McNuggett again....

Went to the Heat vs Kings game the other day and we blew them out. We got an exciting team to watch thats for sure, but theres obviously a weakness in defense right now Ive noticed in other games. Having Haslem at Center dosnt make me feel comfortable. Beasley still needs to toughen up a bit. Chalmers has some nice upside so itll be cool to see him develop.

Both players play defense, and Billups distributes the ball - both things sorely lacking in Denver. I think this was a win-win trade, and that Denver could be considerably better without AI taking 25 shots/game and playing absolutely no defense.

J.R Smith starting now at SG now will be an important factor as to how much better they are after this trade. But I do agree with what youre saying.

i still remember the days of unlocking secret characters at the arcade. the game on the consoles (NES, Sega) were good, but the arcade version is up there in my list.

" ... Shaq actually bought two machines. He kept one at home and then, if you can believe this, they shipped the game with them on their road trips, setting up the machine in their hotel rooms as they traveled. The players would play, then get someone to pack it up and ship it off to the next city. ..."

i wish i have the original NBA Jam arcade machine.

Blazers looked pretty good tonight with Oden, he came in and made his presence felt immediately. If he can stay healthy, watch out. Wade with some nice highlight plays as well, Heat just dont have the size to compete with someone like Portland, who knows if Marion woudve made a difference on the outcome, but great game.

The Knicks are 5-3

I know it's early in the season, but I already see a Lakers-Celtics rematch in the making.

1. Finally.. Maubury is now not as popular as Palin is atm. Get his money and get out of NY. (who needs a point guard with a large payroll??)

2. Playoffs or bust. I'll assume if they can keep an above .500 record then their chances are good.

Yeah pierce hit the game winner on Atlanta last night when they were down for awhile. Shows who is still boss in the East.

Lakers are the bulls without Micheal right now. Going for 17-0 and maybe 72-10 but in the end they can't disappoint unlike MJ's bulls!
Persoanlly what happened last year is they got tired at the end. The west winning like that was tough but they ran out of steam losing so easily to the celtics who grinded out each game meaning they were not tired yet until it was over like MJ's bulls over and over.

"Howard recorded his first career triple-double with 30 points, 19 rebounds and 10 blocks Wednesday night" against OAK I knew Dwight did not dish out assist but then 10 blocks damn. He is playing volleyball out there hahaha....

Posted by LeopoldStotch on Nov-13-2008 18:34:

speaking of Dwight Howard ...

and the award of the day for "Stop shooting the damn ball, because you're not going to make it" goes to ....

Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma City.

statline:

30 minutes, 3/19 fg, 7/8 ft, 13 points

at one point in the game, westbrook was 0/10 fg

close second

Roger Mason of San Antonio.
31 minutes, 2/10 fg, 0/0 ft, 6 points

/edit

a lot of bad shooting nights last night

baron davis: 4/15 fg
ron artest: 1/12 fg
peja stojakovic: 3/13 fg
anthony parker 4/16 fg
kobe bryant: 5/15 fg

bad %'s there.
