Sounds like it was a good time!! I was unable to make it this year due to the money situation but next year is going to be a must!!

Posted by 2tall on Oct-06-2008 18:56:

amazing! to the point of being frustratingly overwhelming... so much to hear and see, so many floats to stop by and parties to go to... not only that, but sunday night i got to sneak some punk rock into all of this edm with my absolute favorite band playing, before heading off to ferry to finish it off at 4:30am monday.... thus making it probably my best overall weekend ever!

Posted by DizkokidD on Oct-06-2008 19:01:

these guys look like they had fun... i missed it, because i got lazy to drive... bleh, at least i took care of errands.. but next year i will be there..

Didn't have as good of a time because my friends were being lame and didnt want to hit up any of the pre or afterparties.

Fuck them.

There were a lot of tracks that got replayed. I swear I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit 3 times. Twice by Armin and what seemed to be the original from ATB (which seemed to get a larger ovation from the crowd, the entire floor was fist pumping! Shoulda taken a video of that).

I think I heard Stoneface & Terminal - Blue Print 3 times as well, twice from Armin and K&A had it towards the end of their set (which I was happy to hear over and over).

Armin did play the one track I was waiting for all day and night though, Mr Sam feat clAud9 - Cygnes.
Does anyone know if A&B played Solarstone - Spectrum? I didn't hear it, but my friend swears they did.

I agree!!! Don't get me wrong. I had a blast at LOVE FEST this year, but I felt kinda ackward seeing little girls walking around topless. And I mean TOPLESS!!! No pasties on!!!

It was my girlfriend's first Love Fest, and it was my 3rd one! Honestly, I still like first time I went better. That was when it was LOVE PARADE.

It was fun seeing a lot of TA's. And it was fucken hillarious seeing Lee Burridge dressed like a girl! LMAO!!!

By 9pm I was dead tired and didn't make it to any after parties.

On the other hand, San Francisco is one hell of a city. Friday night my girlfriend and I went to eat in North Beach. There was tons of bars & restaurants bumping house music. People were barhopping! That was awesome! I didn't drink that night, so seeing drunk people while sober was fucken funny. It was 2:30am and people were stumbbing left and right! lol

Next stop... WMC!!!!

Love fest is great. (especially with the 10 minute ride on BART from my house) but WMC in Miami is the main event for me. Nothing in the states (or possibly the world) touches it. So many brand new tracks come out of that week, it's usually pretty warm, typically an older croud (read: 21+ excluding ultra...which is easy to avoid), and you can usually catch any dj you really want to see play pretty long sets.

Having said that, with the perfect weather, amount of floats, happy vibe, this year's lovefest was a very fun time.

I'm almost certain I know what they played towards the end of their set.

It was Oceanlab pres. Justine Suissa - Miracle (Above & Beyond's Analogue Heaven Remix)

They closed it out with this one.

If we are talking about the Afterparty it definitely was Miracle. I know this for a fact because I was singing the whole song and Jono was pointing to me. God that was awesome

Had a fun time, but if we go again we'll have to miss Lee Burridge. Didn't make it to the civic center until 3:30 because of that.

Fun times but it was ridiculously crowded. It's cool that it gets more and more popular each year, but it also sucks because it gets tough sometimes even to just walk around.

All in all we had a good time.

Highlight of LoveFest 2008 for me was seeing Jono from Above & Beyond get some major support from the crowd!

Coming in a close second was running into Armin van Buuren while shopping in the lower level at Macy's. I did my best to bridge the gap between being an avid supporter vs. rabid fan, and thanked him for a great set on Saturday night...no autographs, photo ops...he came there to shop and just saying Hi and Thanks was enough for me!

it just gets better every year for me, that's all i can really say. i missed out on a lot of people i wanted to see, djs i wanted to hear, places i wanted to be, but i've come to terms with the fact that that happens every year and there's really no point in focusing on anything other than soaking up the moment to its fullest. especially with that phenomenal weather. now that attendance has begun to swell under the lovefest banner, it will just get more insane from here on out...

it was a blast

It's all good dude. I ran into Sarah, Leah, and Rizo at Get Weirder. Sarah told me you left about 15 minutes before I got there.

Posted by Lomeli on Oct-07-2008 20:17:

Oh yea, forgot to mention that my window got bashed in when I left Get Weirder.

Luckily nothing was stolen.

I had an awesome time on our float this year. This being my 2nd year playing, the crowd was much better as I had an earlier timeslot.

I really must say that Taj is one hard act to follow. He left me where I wanted to be though, right at around 142. Everyones sets on our float were amazing, Lyn

Our float this year was bigger, and better than it was last year. We also had 2 ground fog machines that made the girls who were dancing in our cages look awesome. Would have to say, a big percentage of the people on our float were girls!

Started off with some new 4strings, Played the new Chicane & Thrllseekers 08 Remix of Autumn Tactics, Simon Patterson - Us, several other new tracks Including the new Redstar - Long Way Home, My favorite track right now by Signum - Any Given Moment, and more I cant recall ATM...

Ya, dropped castles in the sky (whippenberg remix) for my classic toon of choice this year, it was a pleasant surprise as everyone who was there in front of the float went completely nuts, and started singing along with me to the track, hands in the air, snappin photos... Its pretty amazing cause I never thought to get a reaction like that... Included in the video were the two ambulances that drove by that squeezed my crowd a little tighter.

Alain came by our float who greeted us all, and several other TA's and local Dj fans who showed us all love. After a while, got off our float to walk around the venue amongst the masses of people. I tried to make it with Ismael, and Dj McCorrd and some others for the TA meetup around 4, but looked around and no one was to be found... Although it did seem like every couple of minutes or so I ran into someone that we all knew or said hello...

Ran into 72 party animal, and Gil-la over at the Spundae/Skills Float... later on when I walked around again, ran into Armin too, same here with no pics of autographs, i have too many of him with me already. It was awesome as he greeted me with hello Dave for a change too.

Overall this years Lovefest was simply amazing. Allot of people came out, and I was happy to see old friends I hadnt seen in so long. It was a great honor again to be part of something so great. San Francisco is definitely one city that loves Electronic Dance music.

This year though, everyone seemed like they were burned out and didn't make it to many afterparties or pre-parties. Was expecting more turnouts to either or... I also didn't make it to any too.

I cant wait when everyone gets their pix and video developed.. I know there is a bunch to go through since I have a bunch myself....
