I moved to New York 1 year and 6-7 months ago.

So yes it's fall and I'm cold!

It's about 15C now. It's doable but by the end of the month - probably not.

Oh...in that case I understand, still though you live in florida, you americans move around too damn much

Still, skirt suits ftw, put on some nice thick and warm panthyhose and you'll be fine. They keep you warm and they look so damn nice

haha.. Ahh New York!

Everyone and their shoes under the desk. So funny! I have it too.. Sometimes more than 1 pair

pssh i only wear tennis shoes to work and all my shoes are under my desk...in case of instances like today when i had to walk a couple blocks through time square because my regular train was delayed

only problem with buying a suit is that you have to argue with the tailor to get something to look good. they always want the cuffs super-short & the pants extra-long. idk where that fad started, but it's almost as bad as thin ties.

ew really?

should have nothing showing when arm is down and just a bit past cufflink when bent

Posted by shaw on Oct-06-2008 22:04:

no, should have about 1/2" (maybe a little more) & be @ the base of your thumb. No cuff showing looks like you didn't get it cut. they all want these things on your wrist with 2-3" or something, though. it looks horrible.

"ok, we just put it there, ok?"
"I'd rather have it a bit longer. More like here."
"Yes, but it will look better here. This is where it should be."
"No, I want it a bit longer than that."
"Ok, how about this? We put it here, then, ok?"
"No, I want it here. That's still too short."

[20 minutes later]
"[moves cuff up] Ok, and we just put this here."
"No, I want it where it was. That's too short again."

no cuff showing looks like you are wearing your father's suit.

Posted by JD8180 on Oct-06-2008 22:46:

from my understanding they are all acceptable, just different styles. what kadomony said about no cuff showing when your arm is down is more of a business look, where as a shorter cuff is more casual. it all depends on what you like, but they are both commonly used.

granted, no cuff showing doesn't mean having the suit go all the way down to your knuckles, either.

A guy in a well tailored suit looks hot. Anyhow from now on I building my suit collection I only have like 5

Posted by gehzumteufel on Oct-06-2008 22:59:

I don't currently own a suit, but I hope to change that soon. We will see.

now that spring racing carnival has started there is a lot of suit wearing to be done.

I'm excited to play "dressed up grown up" again.

Edit: With sexy lingerie on underneath it, that is.

and for you suit noobs... NEVER button the bottom button (goes the same with 2-button or 3-button suits).

if you have a 3-button suit you could either just button the middle, or solely the top, or both middle and top... just don't touch the bottom button!

just because you have a fat ass. doesnt mean everyone else does
