-- Who isn't a perfectionist?

I would say that I'm very attentive to detail, but I wouldn't really consider myself a perfectionist. In regards to work, I do have this mentality to get everything done ASAP, but not at the expense of a drop in quality (fueled by green tea and my mp3 player). This leaves me with nothing to work on for a good month or so after the bulk of public companies I'm responsible for have released their financials. Then I end up working on "special projects" for my boss.. bleh

I have devised a way to play my Nintendo DS without getting caught though, so I have had fun playing FF4 when there is absolutely nothing to do.

How dare you post at the same time as me.

Yeah i'm definitely not for most things. for things i truly care about, then yeah once in a while, but even for like my music i'm really not, i get the most satisfaction from the process of creating, so that i'm just not as concerned with the final product. I also tend to have a very short-term view on things and i think that factors into it somehow

+1. I remember when I used to get all whacked out over nothing. Boy was life fucking hard then. Stressed over everything and not happy. Now I am the total opposite. I sometimes allow things to happen that I shouldn't and don't worry lol. Oh well. Live and learn.

btw how the fuck do you teach someone how to be like this?
i've always been fairly carefree and my gf could really use to stress less

Tell her to sort out her father issues.

Yeah I'm very carefree in regards to a lot of things.. I find myself getting angry over very stupid things nowadays. It's rather odd I find myself upset and cursing at my TV screen because I can't defeat a boss in Megaman 9... and when I notice that my 401K is down 60% I don't even care lol

I never really tried being perfect, it just came naturally. So, I can't really say whether I am a perfectionist or not. I do like perfect women that's for sure.

Oh but you're wrong. It's obvious that because he father wasn't around she looks to men to provide her with a sense of self worth. And that's what you're there for.

My room looks like a bombs hit it and has to be this way for me, see I like to have everything within arms reach so usually that means there's shit everywhere. I went off my chops at my brother's gf one time coz I came home from work and she'd been in and cleaned my room up. She's one of those extreme neat freaks and gives me the shits coz she gets real obsessive about everything being clean, neat and perfect. I'm definitely no perfectionist but I do strive to do things to the best of my abilities.

ps. I do like Tidy trax. lol

I agree with you, although I want to ditch the concept of perfection altogether, as I feel it may not be a good idea for me to just "change" it. Still, I tend to value unexpected behaviour and the often absurd turnout of events for the exact same reason

Being neat or clean has nothing to do with perfectionism.

You can be a perfectionist slob.

I am, and it's getting me nowhere.

lol believe me, it has taken a long while. I guess it started when I started drinking. haha so 10 years ago. It has been slow and gradual though. I think I have made the most progress in the last 5-6 years. The first few years were total shit.

Agreed, but they are usually neat freaks and control freaks.

happened for me over the course of like one year, problem is that i credit that transformation of sorts to my life turning to absolute shit for a while, and the change in world view was a result of recovering from that. and you know, telling people to get uber depressed isn't a very good solution

Yeah, it would have been a shorter period, but for the longest time, I was much more introverted than I am now. So much has changed with my since I was 15. I am nothing like I was then. That is part of the reason I would say it took so long, but maybe I am just not realizing it happened over a shorter period of time. I have no clue. I guess I could say the last 5-6 years, I haven't changed much in this aspect, as I was already not getting worked up over most small things.
