Slow, that is, until tomorrow (hopefully). I get my first real project assignment tomorrow, which is at least partially (if not wholly) my own choice - but the times I would be on span all three shifts (depending on which I'm assigned to), so I'm thinking the biggest part of this that is my choice is really just which shift.

Regardless, as I said so far it's been slow - but I think that's just part of corporate bureaucracy, and though it's been kind of hard to be patient (getting paid at least makes doing nothing a bit easier), it's nice to at least be getting going.

Well at least you are working again!

And yeah, being paid to do fuck all is much easier than not being paid for the same. Also, yeah corporate bureaucracy is slow and a pain in the ass, but it is what it is. You get over it and just move on.

I did it for 9 months, it was utterly miserable and I ended a relationship in part because of it.

In retrospect, taking that job and ending that relationship was one of the greatest regrets of my life.

Damn, Yuris - I'm sorry to hear that.

I've only done it a couple nights in my life and truely despised it. Maybe if I had done it for a longer period of time and my body was able to adjust to it, it wouldn't be so bad. But, the times I have done it, I've always left work feeling like shit.

Yeah nights suck dick. I work one night shift a week and it's hell. I guess it'd be different if I wasn't also in school...but yeah no.

Figuring out how to sleep in the afternoon is definitely not easy - working 7-4/5 every day this week (including yesterday), then starting 3rd last night through the end of it is feeling like a pretty drastic change of pace.

I think I've gotten about a total of 6 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours.

Hoping the start of a full week on 3rd will help me adjust better after the weekend.

Tinfoil on the windows to not let the sun come in.

I live in the basement. Light is not an issue.

Just overwhelmed right now, I guess.

Posted by nchs09 on Oct-16-2008 18:38:

Believe me, I know all too well that I am living the TA dream right now.

Posted by elFreak on Oct-16-2008 18:40:

meh, we have all done it at one point.

Posted by RJT on Oct-16-2008 18:50:

I definitely appreciate the thought, but I'm not so sure everyone has hit the record levels of fail that I've managed the past few months.

Posted by elFreak on Oct-16-2008 18:51:

it is called life. The fail is what makes good things better.

you are fresh out of school man, time and experience will change things.

Dunno

Meh, for all intents and purposes I really don't even care if this deteriorates into a trademark TA "Oh man, what an emo failure of a thread this is", that's what's up and there's nothing I can do about it right now other than eat an Ambien and try to get some sleep.
